Bogdan binned then and some better competition for Mingolet.
Ward has been the best keeper in the SPFL this season.

The Dons are gutted he has gone

Ward has been in great form for Aberdeen.
He can also play in the EL.

Bin Bogban.

It's tough for Bogdan - he's been given two chances under Klopp and was catastrophic for us ... I hope Ward ceases his chance when it comes.

Strange with Bogdan, he looked decent in his first game, guess the pressure got to him.

Hopefully Ward steps up.

I'm not going to pretend I've ever thought he was anything other than a so-so, self-deluded, arrogant little twat, but if he comes back and does well of course I'll be delighted. After Bogdan a piece of cheese would strike me as progress

Why so Macca?

I've just heard stuff about him that's astounded me in terms of his ego when I've watched his under-whelming performances for us, and I've seen a couple of close up media things when he's been a real twat, but I gather he's done well since he's gone on loan so good luck to him.

Right. let's hope his loan has matured him somewhat then. I doubt they'd stand much of that up there!

I believe I was expecting this, because my brain had the foresight to forget the transfer fee we paid for Bogdan. I have a bad feeling it may have been a lot, but the ignorance is painless.

He could start Wednesday...

Mignolet is struggling to be fit for the Premier League game against Arsenal at Anfield on Wednesday

Well, playing Bogdan against Arsenal and Utd doesnt feel to good.
But throwing Ward in there, thats a risk.

If this guy Ward - was the full time first choice keeper for the team he has been recalled from - then I would not worry too much. What is always worrying about putting in the 2nd choice keeper is that they don't get enough live match exposure during a season - so the likelihood of mistakes increases in any one game they have to appear. So all the shit Bogdan has produced was something I half expect from a 2nd choice keeper. This chap Ward maybe not so error prone if he has been playing regularly.

If he's been playing well, and regularly, in Scotland - a physical league - then it's far less of a risk than Bogdan who's confidence must be shot and who's only had 3 1st team outings.

On the other hand, Ward's return will threaten Teixeira's chances of making the Europa League squad for the round of 32 onwards. The squad list is to be submitted by the end of the month, with 3 new registrations permitted. Ward can still play for us despite having appeared for Aberdeen in the playoff rounds before the group stage.

With Flanagan's gradual return from his injury, I'm pretty sure he'll be one of the new players selected as he'll add experience and better quality as a backup to both full back spots (over the likes of Randall and Smith). He takes up a spot in List A as a club-trained player - a spot which we left vacant this season. That leaves 2 places freed up by the scratching of Gomez and Ings from the list.

If Flanagan is in, then Ward, Ilori and Teixeira will contest the remaining 2 places, together with whoever joins between now and end-January and who is still eligible to represent the club in the tournament. Ilori (or a new eligible CB) has an edge as our CBs have been dropping like flies and we could want the additional cover, as we could restart the tournament with Skrtel still out and Sakho a potential casualty anytime. Well, unless Klopp's really comfortable with Lucas as a CB.

So two down one to go, and that then leaves Ward vs Teixeira. If Klopp's really lost confidence in Bogdan, then Teixeira could yet be cursing his luck again unless one of the senior midfielders were to go down to a long-term injury, or unless Klopp decides that he'll accept the goalkeeping situation and go with an additional attacking player.
