Hello all.
Some of you know I am involved with a local Tennis Club.
We are having a great year so far on, and off, court.
We have won both local Liverpool and district, knock out cups, and are in the final for the Tennis Lancashire Roscoe Cup.
Our Ladies first team won the league and our mens firsts were close runners up (they won it last year).
Many of our other teams (six mens and two ladies in total) won their league or gained promotion.
Our Junior teams won both their finals.
Off court with a great effort we gained ClubMark accreditation , the first members club in the Lancashire League to do so.
We splurged all our savings, £40k, and re-surfaced three of our six courts with syn-grass at the start of the season.
Over the last two years we have tripled our junior membership.
We are not a wealthy club, despite our outlay on the courts, this was saved up over many years.
The club is run on a completely voluntary basis with help of the committee and other dedicated members. Our fees are as competitive as we can make them so that people can afford to play, and we can remain in existence. £125 a year for a full member, and £45 for a junior , that includes ten weeks free group coaching.
Here is the favour. We have been nominated by the LTA Tennis Lancashire, in the Club of the Year category for their annual awards.
There is an on-line vote.
Could I ask you all to click on the link and vote for us - PALMERSTON- and send the link to as many people as possible and your facebook friends
