Ive seen more than one situation this season where it seems to me the referee has taken a moment or two to make a decision and then hes made a decision that he couldnt possibly have seen.
I havnt mentioned it before but the Barton incident today reminded me of it.
The ref isnt looking at Barton, the linesman doesnt flag so he hasnt seen it, the ref jogs over to the linesman and then runs back indicating that Bartons sunk the head in. The ONLY way he could have reached that decision is if someone has had a word in his ear.
Im sure this happened in one of our games this season and im sure ive seen more of it this year than before.
So what do you reckon. Its already in use isnt it? Just on the QT.
Im fairly sure it is now.

Good theory, and quite possibly correct Official or not, it should be in use.

That said, they use it in the NFL, and still fucked up 3 decisions in 1 game yesterday.

I've been thinking this for a while. Would be easy to have a "5th official" hidden away somewhere.

I doubt it is because the FA are so fucking useless, they'd be caught the first time they tried it. But, it absolutely should be used for big decisions, or if play has already been stopped.

Could FIFA have let it be known on the quiet that they would turn a blind eye if it were trialled unofficially?
