Has Bredan Rodgers picked a new vice captain after Agger's departure? Haven't seen any news on this. Personally I would pick either Henderson or Lovren. Henderson for his tenacity though he seems to be perpetually in his Captain's shadow. Lovren for his command in the area, well at least he is steadier than Sakho in comparison, though his recent arrival might work against him. Any other candidates? e.g Lallana was Southampton captain

Lovrenwould seem obvious as guaranteed place and a bit of a shouter

Henderson is a bit of a shouter too. I remember him yelling at other players to change position or protect a zone. The short time that Lovren is here would work against him I reckon.

Has to be Henderson. I don't really like it when brand new players are given positions like that, especially one like Lovren who's yet to justify his place in the team.

Absolutely has to be Henderson.

I have a feeling that Lovren would execute the "rat out of an aqueduct" manoeuvre if someone like Barca started sniffing around him.

Has to be a senior player with experience, world class skills and the ability to unite the fans behind the club.

Glen Johnson or Lucas it is then.

One of my kids said to me that apart from Gerrard, our starting eleven on Sunday featured no-one who'd been at the club for more than 3 years. I think Henderson is the 2nd longest serving player from that bunch.

Technically Sterling's been here for 4.5 years but yeah it's an interesting stat.

i wouldn't be surprised if it's johnson , i reckon rodgers rates him more than people think .

I think Johnson and Lucas will struggle to reclaim their place in the long term and given what happened with Agger, it has to be someone who is nailed on to start every game they are available for, which is clearly Hendo. Would be a great vote of confidence for him too.

Henderson! Lad is a role model for everyone. His work ethic could make a football career for the most modestly talented footballers. He reminds me of Lampard in that regard. Making the absolute most out of his skillset.
