Don't believe everything you read...he had one serious injury last year and missed virtually the whole season because of it.

Brown played superbly last week and Vermaelen was pure class today. Seems we have one stepping up every week :🙂

He is a top defender, not as good a spoiler as Vidic but he can play some good football and has a decent turn of pace which are too massive gaps in Vidics game. Obviously his entire season out injured last year would throw some doubt over him but when hes on the pitch hes amongst the best defenders in the league, for me Kompany is no1 but Vermalen isnt far behind
