Trouble in Manchester

You all laugh...but he has a point..and his record shows he is a winner with or without big money backers for the teams he has won significant stuff with. It was quite strange but he proved a point...you want to see attacking football ? this is what happens when these defenders dont have a midfield bus parked in front of them.

Say all you want .. in his first season he won the cups that Klopp failed to win in the two finals. He has also come second with that overrated shit squad of his. Plus i think he showed his mettle when he stopped city winning the title by beating them last season away at their ground.

That's a real mark of madness. 'The supporters are the best judge'.'Er, lots of the supporters left early'. 'Yes, because it takes two hours to get to the city centre. Keep trying, keep trying'. He's lost it. I just hope that's the last time we see that snide little bastard in England.

Yeah he's gone unfortunately.

Also, can people please recognise Pogba is shit? Been saying it for two years. Should've realised when KhL was bigging him up.

What kind of tosspot, during the walk from the pitch to the interview area, thinks, 'We lost 3-0, what can I do with that...Three....Three...I know, I can make a point of me winning three titles, that will completely destroy their arguments!' I mean, he's really gone a bit insane.

It's funny watching that interview, he usually has the luxury of a bad decision or some controversy to jump on but he's had to replace that with a tale of bad luck and a hint of 'i told them so' on the transfer front.

That team is a shambles for what he has spent, there's no getting away from that. Its his last season at united.

For decades I suffer in silence from the man u fans. now it is complete silence. Ah bliss. Long may it last

I didn't think Spurs looked that impressive. If Mourinho hadn't spent shit tons on overrated strikers, Spurs were there to be had. Their passing was not that good, and they presented several really good situations to to the Mancs, who were just completely lacking in confidence and finishing ability.

Jose should really think about getting out of football management and becoming a politician. The inconvenient thing about football is that no matter how good you are at finding excuses, creating “enemies” and manufacturing distractions, giving yourself credit for things that should be taken for granted (such as the mighty United playing with a bit of pace and urgency in front of their own fans after going down limply to Brighton last week), and turning people who are susceptible to this sort of thing into zombified worshipers of your own cult, at the end of the day everybody still knows the score. It’s so much easier in politics where facts matter less and less and even hard economic data is open to interpretation!

When Trump, Putin or Erdogan spout their weapons-grade lies, there is no giant scoreboard showing 0:3 behind them; that’s the only thing that’s hindering Mourinho and turning him into a laughingstock instead of a heroic figure of his imagination. I’d say, if he ever decides to use his considerable skills for political ends, he has every chance to become Portugal’s little Hitler.

Hmmm... I'm still quite wary of taking a pop at United and Maureen... The overriding narrative that he is a wanker and doing a bad job...

There was an article yesterday in the Guardian that United must regret signing him up and not Pochettino. It was game 2 of the season.

Maybe it is true and United do regret it but it does strike me as a constantly negative narrative directed towards him rather than a balanced look at it. It feels weird typing things that may be interpreted as defending Mourinho so I would just like to state for the record that I cannot stand the cunt but I am not so certain he deserves all the reprobation he receives from the press.

He sulked away from the press conference last night pointing out that he has 3 titles in the premiership unlike all the other managers totalled up and despise the fella or not that is true.

I just don't wanna jinx him into doing well.

It is also true that he deserves a large slice of the criticism coming his way, basically slating his own players/signings on a few occasions already in pre-season, whining about lack of signings and so on, and with an ego the size of his it must be difficult to cling to the title of being "the special one" when in truth you ain't that special.

That said... I've been watching that shower of shite beat us and finish above us for too many years to get too confident, therein lies my wariness.

I hope it ends horribly for him but I'm going hold on for a while before I start gloating.

They didn't look good in the first half, but that was due to United attacking them in a way they probably hadn't expected. A couple of tactical changes at HT and they began ripping them to shreds in midfield and in behind the FBs. There was massive hole where an unfit Matic was supposed to be and I thought Ali and Moura were excellent at exploiting that space.

It would have been very interesting to see what would have happened if Lukaku had scored when he should have. More belief for the Untied players and maybe Spurs losing some of their confidence. We could have been looking at the reverse scoreline.

Well both of those theories are probably facts but they are stuck with Mourinho (and probably couldn't have got Poch anyway even if they had tried). The big question going forward for me is whether United with stick with the far more progressive football they displayed yesterday. Score first and they may have won and their fans and the media would be creaming themselves over Mourinho's change in tactics.
If they do stick with that attacking style they'll be a totally different proposition and IMO do far better than the with stale rigid system they are currently employing.

I think he's gone this week but I hope not.

I’m fucking gutted. Carrying on this way, he’ll be gone by the end of September.

It’s like Moyes all over again.

Don't see it at all. End of the season perhaps but now ? Not a chance, there are simply no top class managers out there to replace him with at this stage of the season. I can imagine the board may begin to sound out options for 2019/20 though.
