Trouble in Manchester

Is there any truth in any of this ? - I cannot see him turning down the money Chelsea went onto give him to manage us back then.

Still - for such an accomplished manager who has won stuff in multiple leagues both with and without money - I find it strange that he constantly targets our managers (now or ex-managers) when he is upset. I don't get the constant shit he gives Klopp considering in an interview that Klopp did he actually referred to Jose as a 'Great' manager. I find it very strange.

No

Insecurity about his waning powers, envy about the energy and optimism and popularity of a rival - he must have been a hell of a brat. I bet all his birthday parties ended up with him flouncing up the stairs after one of his mates won a game or seemed too liked by the others.

What you have said seems very likely, but having watched an post match interview long ago when Chelsea beat us 1-4 at Anfield when we were managed by Rafa in the season following our CL win - he was asked afterwards about LFC - and to his credit he said we were a 'very good team'. Part of me wonders if he really means what he says or is it purely to distract the media. I have to say Klopp's response was so classy and straight in yesterday's post match conference when asked about Jose's indirect comments towards Klopp's achievements abroad.

I don't of course have any inside info.about it but the Fourth Estate was full of rumours to that effect at the time, incl.quotes from him about how much he admired the club and stories about him having the LFC logo as the background photo, even YNWA as the ringtone, on his phone. It did look quite the campaign.

Two thoughts from this polar opposite of a ManU fan:

1. They're spot on - Woodward is clearly not a patch on his predecessor; and
2. Love the internal strife they're going through - long may it continue.

I think the problem with Woodward is that his priorities are about making more value for his bosses the Glazers, and what the fans and the managers want is secondary.

He's not failing on the first part.

One of my Utd fan mates said their value went up 2% after the Spurs lose so they wouldn’t care

Depends how far into the future they're looking, because In the medium to longer term that'll turn out to be a false dichotomy. Without everyone pulling in the same direction, less (potentially much less) value will be added.
