Trouble in Manchester

Might sound a bit stupid but it does seem that all the top managers are off somewhere else and just getting stuck into a chunk of work right now. Whoever takes over after Maureen, no matter how promising they might seem, won't have won much before. It'll be the Moyesiah 2 no matter who it is.

True. they have a tough decision on their hands. They could of course try to tempt Zidane but he probably enjoys a different role for a while. So wherever they og they either have to look for a real dinasour liek those CHelsea bring in every second season as caretakers or they have to og unproven and see how that New man build up the club the way he wants. Maybe Brendan Rodgers is the man to hire.

Doesnt Martial want to leave, and hasnt Mourinho "given up" on him after the whole child birth gate?
I dont see him as a potential starter now and someone who can contribute short term.

Same with Pogba after Mourinhos World cup comments.

It is fucking weird of any manager to publicly distance himself from two vital assets in his Squad like that.

It's still the team that finished a comfortable 2nd last season. The question is have the teams below them done enough in the transfer window to reasonably expect them to overtake United ?

I think we would have finished above them last season had we not virtually foregone the PL for the CL. We should finish comfortably above them this time.

Spurs are going to have issues IMHO. There must be disappointment in the squad that they were not able to strengthen and they have disenchantment in their ranks (Aldeweirald - sp. - and Rose at the very least) that may grow if they are not around the top of the PL and doing OK in the CL at Xmas. Can't see them overtaking United.

Arsenal, have replaced one old timer with a 35 yr old CB and have lost squad depth with Wilshire & Cazorla gone. Not going to finish above United.

Chelsea have strengthened, assuming Kepa is no worse than last season's Courtois. They could challenge United for 3rd if Sarri's tactics adapt well to the PL.

United to finish 3rd/4th, make last 16 of the CL and then lose again, make FAC 1/4s before we knock them out, make LC semis before being thrashed by City/Chelsea/Us.

Mourinho leaves at the end of season by 'mutual consent'.

Ffs the United board have realised what everyone else had...

I knew it would eventually come to an end boooo

It is a worry that they will probably end up in a war where Mourinho is (again) sacked with a ton of cash on his account. But their Three latest managerial appointments shows that there is no guarantee that they will make the right choice this time. I love this fucking freak show they are putting up.

They tought it was just to install Moyes and let the Things run on autopilot to repeat the Fergie success. I asked my manc friends question, but only got "The chosen one" back. They claimed they had the history of giving managers time (Fergie aside I think they sacked 3- 4 in the 80's alone). Then they sent the fucking airplane over Old Trafford. What a shambles. I fucking loved it.

I knew exactly what they would get from LVG. I lived in Spain when he coached Barcelona, and it was a tragedy. My friends again pointed at the Holland 5-0 vs. Spain and was tiptoing around the place. They got the boring shithouse of a manager I predicted to them and a few of them stopped watching Man U as they threw the last of their everlasting principles over board by even firing a manager winning them the FA Cup (Not a big enough trophy for them). I fucking loved it.

Now some of them admitted being sceptical for hiring Mourinho while others just hated him even before he came. But the majority though accepted that they would have to live With a defensive approach as it guaranteed them the league. The media hype was fantastic to watch. Pep vs. Mourinho. I must admit some fears that he could actually win them the League, and I crossed my fingers that Pep would get a rocket start With City as that would make Mourinho implode. I was pretty sure they would og sour at some stage but even I couldn't dream about this. The way the papers even here in Norway put up the Zlatan this and Zlatan that headlines. When they won the League cup the papers went crazy. You would think they won CL, while the fact was the the ref robbed Saints for the opening goal. But the fucking sircus we witness now is beyond my imagination. I love it and I fear it goes toward the end.

I wouldn't write them off. They've got a good squad and Mourinho, even when in a funk, knows how to grind out results. It doesn't look like there is anyone in that Utd dressing room that will be able to force him out.

Utd fans must be pretty pissed off with the board. Moyes - failure. Van Gaal - failure. Shit the bed and hired Mourinho despite not really wanting him, gave him a new contract and now seem to have differing views.

You can't blame the Mourinho for being his normal shitty self. The board should've had a plan for getting rid round about this time though.

I am a firm believer that we should never take joy in other's misfortune or misery, but that's just me.

One of the things I like about Klopp is that you almost never hear him practise schadenfreude, because he's humble enough to know he's equally fallible too.

If Jose and others want to slag us off or engage us in petty mind games, let them do it and we'll just laugh it off. Like what Klopp did previously. It's about time we behave with class like we were always known for.

Btw, I'm not trying to attack/criticise anyone in this thread.

I'm willing to make an exception in his case. The fucking blert. The sooner he fucks off out of the English game again the better.

I wouldn't doubt them but Mourinho's "us against the world" mantra has been on destroying his players publicly - youngsters ("How can Alexis succeed with that drek?"), Pogba, Shaw etc ... It's going to bite him in the ass.

I still think they will get 80 odd points and finish top 4 unless the squad implodes like it did in his last season at Chelsea. I dont think Utd have ever allowed anything like the toxic player power that was in place at Stamford Bridge.

I think tonight actually is a crucial night for them. A poor performance with a poor result will make their fanbase implode even more, and that will affect the players no matter what. Mourinho has shown that players don't follow him to the bitter end through his "Special one against the world" campaigns and ManU has some real egoistic shitheads in their squad. Sanchez will get his 500k every week even without following Mourinho. #Pogback doesn't want to run around Old Trafford and will get his move to Barca even without putting his best out there. They lack leaders on the Pitch and probably off the Pitch as well. Their supossed leaders are Chris Smalling and Valencia. So there is every chance that this squad will fade out and die slowly With their shit footie.

I just read what Klopp said about Ings. What a beautiful man Klopp is. Put him side by side Moanrinho and they are like two world's apart. Klopp's a bit like Kenny in that they actually treat their players like family and not just a means to an end.

Things were always going to be tough for that lot when Ginsoak finally wore out, but losing David Gill and replacing him with Ed Woodward can't have helped either. It's reminiscent, at least partially, of what happened to us in the early 90s when Sir John Smith stood down as chairman and that clown Moores took his place.

I was surprised when Pogba agreed to go back there after the way he left the first time, and can't help wondering whether he's ever really wanted to be there at all.

I wish we’d won what they have over the past few seasons
He'll win something again this season, mark my words. Remember he wasn't looking for flamboyant attacking talent but rather to replace his defenders. His style of play was not going to change; he will continue getting scrappy close wins but wins they will be all the same.

Pogba's mentality has been questioned by Mourinho and the midfielder was dropped last season for the Champions League tie against Sevilla.

'I am the same Paul Pogba (as at the World Cup). It's a different team, obviously. I still love football and give my best. When you are comfortable, when people trust everyone, are good in the head, it's going to be easier.

'If you're not happy doing what you're doing, there's no point doing it, right? There's point doing things because you love it.'

Asked if he was happy and comfortable, Pogba replied: 'There are things I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined.'

He was, however, happy to describe why it clicked with France at the World Cup under Didier Deschamps, where Pogba was filmed in the dressing room rallying his team-mates.

'It's easier for a player to be on the same page with all the group,' he said. 'The manager was inside, the physio, the kitman, we were all a group.

'So obviously it's easier to go and speak and express yourself, and we went for an objective and the big one was to win.'

Doesn't sound like a happy punter at all .... truth in those rumours of an attempted move to Spain then.

Be boss if he went abroad

In spite of his performances for united, any attacking manager could make him brilliant in this league

He was pretty good for France playing similarly shit football. Let’s hope he hasn’t decided to take that attitude back to Utd.

I think for France he was given a slight more license to try things

Mourinhos football is risk averse

It's also psychological. If he takes a risk and fucks up for France, everyone moves on. If he fucks up for Mourinho, he'll be treated like a little boy and get told off, made to write lines on a blackboard, and scapegoated for the entire season. Regardless of the type of football, you're just going to decide for yourself not to try anything in those circumstances.

I didn't think he was that good in the world cup either. Goes missing for 60 minutes regularly. You don't want that from your centre mid.
