AS expects Cristian Tello to seal a loan to Porto, where he will team up with his former Spain U21 boss Julen Lopetegui, although talks on the move have gone on longer than expected as various details are hammered out.

Mexico keeper Guillermo Ochoa first got on the radar with his clean sheet and amazing saves versus host nation Brazil in the group stage. His strong play continued against Netherlands in the round of 16, even though his El Tri side were eliminated by the Dutch. Ochoa now says in a MediaTiempo.com report that he'll reveal his club fate -- he's currently a free agent, as his contract with Ligue 1 side Ajaccio expired last month.

Brendan Rodgers is being linked with a move for Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow but faces a big battle to land him.
North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham are also keen to sign the 23-year-old but new Forest boss Stuart Pearce does not want to let him go.
However, Forest, who are looking to make a return to the Premier League this coming season, will have a job on their hands to keep hold of the player.

Fiorentina have warned suitors of Juan Cuadrado that they intend to keep him through the summer transfer window.

Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Cuadrado after a fine World Cup campaign with Colombia.

The winger scored once and set up four goals as the South Americans reached the quarter finals, only to be knocked out by hosts Brazil. The Serie A outfit bought Cuadrado's full sporting rights last month for around £11m, having previously co-owned his services with Udinese. And Firorentina sporting director Daniele Prade insists that the club will do everything to keep the 26-year-old at the Stadio Artemio Franchi."

Cuadrado is a very strong player," Prade said. "The Della Valle family (Fiorentina owners) has done an enormous effort to buy the full sporting rights of the player.
"Now we will have to wait for him to return before we know where his future will be."We will do all that we can to convince him to remain but all will be decided when he returns (from holiday). "For the time being we have not received any official offers for him."

Brendan Rodgers is targeting Dutch World Cup left-back Daley Blind, according to Ladbrokes .

The Reds are rumoured to be ready to buy the Ajax star in order to solve their left-back problems, although his form in Brazil could increase his price tag to almost £20m. Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old.

I'd take Walcott too. If he's available, we should be all over that. He's 25, English, rapid, and can chip in with a decent amount of goals. And can play up top.

Mario Mandzukic - this was pretty under the radar, a good price too. Could have been good for us, no?

Atletico Madrid have reached a "verbal agreement" with Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic over a move to the Estadio Vicente Calderon.
Mandzukic, 28, is set to leave the German champions after just two seasons in which he scored 47 goals and won two Bundesliga titles and the Champions League. "We've reached an verbal agreement with Atletico, and Mario Mandzukic has also reached a verbal agreement," Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer said at a news conference called to unveil new signings Sebastian Rode and Robert Lewandowski. "So, even with nothing signed yet, I can all but confirm the transfer." According to German tabloid Bild, Mandzukic is set to sign a five-year contract with the Spanish champions, who will pay a reported 22 million euros for the Croatia international.

[article]Swansea’s Spanish striker Michu set to join Napoli on season-long loan
• Michu has not gone on Swansea’s pre-season tour to the US
• Bahia International confirmed the clubs are in negotiations

The Guardian, Wednesday 9 July 2014 11.59 BST

Napoli and Swansea City are in talks over the transfer of the Spanish striker Michu on a season-long loan. Michu has not travelled with Swansea to the United States for their pre-season tour.

Bahia International, the company that represents Michu, confirmed on Wednesday that the clubs are in negotiations with a view to Michu joining Napoli on a one-season loan deal.

Michu moved to Swansea from Rayo Vallecano in a £2.2m deal in the summer of 2012 and was the club’s top scorer with 22 goals in his first season.

However, last season the former Celta Vigo star struggled with knee and ankle problems which limited him to only 15 starts in the Premier League. The 28-year-old is under contract with the Swans until 2017.

Napoli’s Spanish coach Rafa Benítez is looking to strengthen their attacking lineup before next season’s Champions League campaign. The Naples club finished third in Serie A last season.[/article]

Weird. I know he was injured a lot last season, but surely his stock shouldn't have plunged till only loan offers were available?

If this does happen, then I suspect that Swansea think the injuries he had last season have wrecked him and he's only going downhill from here on. In which case, isn't it better then to sell him off for a low fee rather than to have him go on loan, play a season and confirm how bad things are? All sorts of weird for me.

And Benitez / Napoli - stop being el cheapo and buy Reina, Agger, etc. already.

I hear the rustle of @Herr Onceared unveiling his member ..

Antoine Griezmann has put a number of European clubs on alert after he rejected the offer of an improved contract at Real Sociedad.

The 23-year-old has two years to run on his current deal but AS say that the San Sebastian outfit could cash in on the France international this summer rather than lose him at a cheaper price next year.

Griezmann has a buyout clause of 30 million euros which could tempt the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, PSG and Monaco.

Barça's Tello's agent Jose M. Orobitg has told O Jogo that there's an agreement between Porto and his client. Said loan is most likely.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez is unsure what will happen regarding his future and is aware of interest from other clubs. Martinez has impressed during the past two seasons at Porto and his prolific form in front of goal has prompted speculation of interest from across Europe.

Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, have been linked with the Colombia international, while Atletico Madrid are also reported to be keen after selling Diego Costa to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old, who scored twice in Colombia's World Cup group stage win over Japan, has a further two years to run on his Porto contract and is waiting to see what unfolds. "Right now, I don't know what will happen," Martinez told Colombian radio station La FM. "I have two more years on my contract with FC Porto.
"There is interest from some clubs, something that is perfectly normal when a player is performing well, but I always have to take into account the fact I am under contract and I have to respect it. "Only time will tell what will happen."

Teenage forward Divock Origi was one of the stars of Belgium's run to the World Cup quarter-finals and Liverpool are in advanced talks with him over a potential £10 million switch from Lille to Anfield.

However, Origi has told the Liverpool Echo that the Reds are just one of several options he has on the table, and that he will likely decide within a fortnight. There are offers from all over Europe. Now I have to look carefully where I will grow as a player and as a person.

I would be upset if we spent big money on Jackson Martinez. There's better options out there for the money.
