It's an interesting choice when we are competing with UNITED for players

Liverpool = Young manager, super team spirit, great fans, good owners, good salary, 2014 league winners, CL Football
Man United = Van Gaal, May be gone soon, ok spirit, ok fans, ok owners, amazing $, 2014 finished 7th, NO CL for you. Club could be back in 1-2 years but who knows?

Which would you choose if you were a young player with no allegiances, and were about winning and money

The one that will pay shite like Wayne Rooney 300 grand a week.

Right but no-one will get that kind of money for at least 2 years when they sign. And you won't be in the CL... and the club may be not be back for a few years competing..

Yeah, but they'll pay on that scale. I mean there's talk of them paying Luke Shaw £100,000 a week. An 18 year old.

I doubt we would consider paying him half that.

I think if we were to blow a shitload of money on a supposedly want-away attacking midfielder from La Liga, I'd prefer it to be Isco rather than Fabregas. Much younger, and the potential to be possibly better.

I'd hire Atletico's scouts. At least those who bring them all those South American talents for peanuts.
Aguero, Falcao, Costa.

Porto's are also quite useful.

I've harped on about this for years, same goes for Benfica and Sporting Lisbon along with Porto like you say.

You get shot down because of the work permit issues involving the young South American players.

Really? Shot down?. I thought those days, Pinochet and all that were gone.

We can always send them on loan until they mature...

That's exactly why man City owners are in the process of buying a Portuguese club, you can register an unlimited number of players of any age, they're gonna use them to buy up South American talent & stockpile them before getting a work permit when they're established so City can bring them over.

Nice level playing field we're operating on.

Indeed. Chelsea have been at this game for a long time and it's reaping it's rewards.

At this rate we probably will be heading towards a European super leagues with other clubs serving as feeder clubs like the B teams of Barca and the like now.

That's a very biased comparison of the two clubs.

Might not be Van Gaal anyway. He wants 10 million a year and also wants to bring his own staff of 4 or 5 with him.

Removing Giggs & Co may not be too popular at the moment.

Thats mental and seriously takes the piss.

We're linked to Bakkali today. Looks like he isnt going to sign a new contract and PSV will listen to offers. Any good?

I have hardly seen any PSV games this season. He is still only 18 so probably too early for him. From what I have seen I prefer Zivkovic at Groningen. He has already signed for Ajax for next season though.

Cheers mate. Yeah, I saw Zivkovic had moved. Good move for him.

HI! I'm from Spain and a Celta de Vigo fan, a local newspaper said that Liverpool and Celta are looking for a Aspas deal, they said that Aspas come back to Vigo for free and Liverpool FC will not paid the rest of the transfert (like 5 million euros)

That means we loaned Aspas for £3.5m for a season (think he arrived on a £7.7m deal). Poor deal but at this point, we could just cut our losses and move on.

Thats what i want to say. Aspas was a bad move for Liverpool but now i think its the best option 'cause no one gonna pay more than £4/5m for Aspas and if some club do it the money must go to pay the rest of the £7.7m deal (and the 10% of the deal goes to Celta Vigo too)

I remember we played Celta Vigo in the Uefa cup at the start of Houllier's days, I think they won 1-0 in the game at Anfield. I've a feeling Gerrard might have made his debut in that game.

Seems a long time ago....
