Transfer Rumours

Ancelotti has said Morata is leaving, he's quality, stupid to let him go, I'd rather have him than Benzema. Wonder how much he'll go for, it's sub 10mill we shoulda been all over him instead of Lambert at the age of 21.

Arsenal seem to have been persistently linked with him so based on transfer rumours alone it looks like that could be his destination.

He'll be a shrewd buy if they can get him, I think he'd be another one of those star players that the arse have a habit of picking up then forced to sell when they get brilliant.

I think its gonna be well over £15m

Barcelona willing to pay Arda Turan’s €41m release clause

by TomConn | Posted on Sunday, June 8th, 2014

Ahmet Bulut, the agent for Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan, recently revealed that Barcelona have approached him about his client and stated they are willing to pay the Turkish international’s full €41 million release clause.

In an interview with NTVSpor via the Express, Bulut denied reports that Turan was entertaining offers from England.
“There are several reports in the press saying we’ve made contact with English clubs but these are not true.”
However, Bulut went on to say that Barcelona had begun negotiations and have met Turan’s €41 million release clause.
The 27-year-old Turan has become irreplaceable piece of Diego Simeone’s La Liga championship squad, but his talents have not gone unnoticed Arsenal, Manchester United and, obviously, Barcelona have all been linked with the Turkish international as the Blaugrana look set to ship Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez and even Pedro out of the Camp Nou.
Yet, it will be up to Turan if he wants to leave for the Catalan capital or stand beside Simeone until his contract expires in 2017.

Fuck me that is what you call a transfer saga !

Torino will not entertain offers below £16.5m for sought-after Italy winger Alessio Cerci.
The 26-year-old, who has been scouted by clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United, catapulted himself into the spotlight last season with a series of exciting displays for Torino.
Cerci scored 13 goals and assisted 11 more in Serie A and subsequently secured himself a spot in Italy's World Cup squad.
Torino have publicly stated that he is not for sale but sources in Italy claim club officials met with the player's agent last week. The two parties discussed the renewal of the player's contract, which ends in 2016, but also agreed that the club should listen to offers above £16.5m.
Roma are interested in signing the former Fiorentina man while a number of sides across Europe, including Atletico Madrid, Juventus, United, Liverpool and Arsenal, are all on his trail.

i still can't make sense of us and Konoplyanka . Why did we push so hard to get him at the end of a transfer window to then show no interest a few months later ? . Are they just pissed off at how things went and don't want to deal with him or his club ? or have they gone off him and thankful for the lucky escape ? it's a weird one and doesn't fill with confidence that this transfer committee know what they are doing .

imo he missed his chance, we wanted him for the rest of the season and were short on options but now we have the time and the champions league pull we're not so bothered

i would still like him

I think a lot of it was his agent? He's from Liverpool I think, and was looking to push the deal through..

It could have something to do with the emergence of Sterling as a key player in this team. But I think the most important reason is that we switched to playing 4-3-3 as our basic system midway through the season. For that system you need more central midfielders and wingers become pretty much interchangeable with strikers. So you don't need to buy specialist wingers, any striker with decent technique can pretty much play as a wing-forward, so suddenly your whole pool of attacking players opens up as options who could be used on the wing.

If that is what we're thinking, I'm not at all sure I agree. How often in English football have good attacking players been shunted out to the wing and failed to fulfil their true potential? Examples at LFC include Vlad Smicer and McManaman, who was never a true winger and whom Real promptly played down the middle after he joined them.

[article=http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/481399/Arsenal-line-up-surprise-swoop-for-Liverpool-s-Pepe-Reina-after-Napoli-move-falls-through]ARSENAL are preparing a sensational move for out-of-favour Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina after a move to Napoli fell through.

Reina spent last season on loan with the Serie A club, who were keen to retain the Spaniard's services next season.

But they are not willing to meet Liverpool's asking price for the 31-year-old, who will now return to Anfield.

However, Reina is unlikely to dislodge Simon Mignolet as Brendan Rodgers' number one at Liverpool and will almost certainly look for an alternative destination before the new season starts.

Reina's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon told ESPN: "It's very difficult for Pepe to remain here [Napoli]. From June 30, he will return to Liverpool because they want to maximise his sale, and Napoli are not willing to spend what is required."

Arsene Wenger is in the market for a keeper after seeing Lukasz Fabianski depart for Swansea this summer.

While it is unclear whether Wenger would be willing to offer Reina first-team football at the expense of Wojciech Szczesny, playing opportunities may be easier to come by with the Gunners next term.

And while Rodgers would be reluctant to sell to a rival, it is believed he would sanction a move in this case if the price is right.[/article]

Arsenal have been linked to Reina every year for a long time now. Can't see it happening as Reina would be on the bench.

£40 million + £1 and he's theirs.

[article=http://www.marca.com/2014/06/10/en/football/barcelona/1402389787.html]Barcelona hope to officially announce the signing of Ivan Rakitic today.

Around six o'clock on Monday evening, Barcelona's vice-president, Javier Faus and sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta left Sevilla's Sánchez Pizjuán stadium in a club car after laying down the foundations of the transfer.

The deal is all but done. Barcelona want to tie up any loose ends before Croatia's opening World Cup game against Brazil this Thursday, and for that reason, Sevilla are negotiating hard for the best deal they can.

The Catalan giants have offered €18m and Denis Suárez - who both Monchi and Emery are fans of on loan. After several hours of negotiations, a deal could be done for just under €20m plus Suárez, on loan, but with an option to make the move permanent.

The move will also cost Rakitic. He will have to waive any money that Sevilla will owe him in the near future. The club and their fans are angered by the footballer's attitude in recent months.

Although he has given his all on the pitch, he has beaten about the bush in signing a new deal, saying he would make up his mind after the World Cup. However, the fact is that he was playing for time in order to reach an agreement with Barcelona.

He will be Barça's second signing following the arrival of Ter Stegen. The Croat arrives at the Camp Nou to replace Cesc Fàbregas, whose move to Chelsea will also be made official in the next few hours.[/article]
