interesting link - the prospect of getting Lallana has grown on me, but this lad would be an incredible purchase.

Liverpool poised to switch transfer interest from Southampton's Adam Lallana to Lazar Markovic

Liverpool are ready to drop their bid to sign England World Cup star Adam Lallana - and set their sights on Lazar Markovic.
Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is worried that Southampton are pricing attacking midfielder Lallana out of a move to Merseyside.
The Anfield club only want to pay just over £20million for Lallana, but the Saints are looking for more than that because they have to give his former club Bournemouth a slice of the profit.
Rodgers is fretting about the possibility of Markovic, his main alternative to Lallana, being sold by Benfica while he is waiting.
Markovic, 20, was Liverpool's original target for their left-wing slot at the end of the season, but the Lisbon club priced him at £30m then.
However, heavy hints are coming from the Portuguese giants that £25m could now be enough to secure a deal.
Rodgers wants an answer from Southampton on Lallana immediately or he will go back for Serbian star Markovic, who is much younger than the 26-year-old Englishman and equally talented.

Even though i don't want to spend the money, i think lallana is definitely the better player RIGHT NOW. I think it would be about 2 years before we see the best of Markovic.

from what i've seen and read this lad is performing at an incredibly high level and established now at international level. I think he would hit the floor running.

Southampton and Bournemouth announce a friendly this morning, maybe to celebrate the windfall from the Lallana sale 😉

This is mental. Some guy on twitter linked to it saying it was a podcast about our transfers, so thought I'd give it a listen. It's absolutely bizarre: 4 random LFC fans pretending, very earnestly, to be our transfer committee and coming up with targets and allocating funds and wages, etc.

I've just got to a bit where the Scottish bloke playing Brendan Rodgers feels he has to put his foot down: 'Guys, I'm telling you right now: Emre Can on £90k a week is just not gonna happen. I will not sign off on that'

It's mesmerising the kind of utter bollocks you can find on the net.

On some other site they questioned the wisdom of Rakitic, a player who is more box to box and likes to run forward with the ball, going to Barca when they've just gotten rid of such a player in Fabregas for supposedly not fitting in.

Thoughts?

Seriously, that is one of the saddest, cringeworthy things I have ever heard. My ears!!!!!

I just started listening to it now and it's amazing. Heh. I think a couple minutes is more than enough to appreciate it's glory though.

Wow. I'm struggling to understand how this came about. Imagine approaching your friends with this idea...

Ha ha - I know! I got a few minutes in and then skipped to the middle and damn near sprayed the tea I was drinking over my mac. It's so goppingly awful It's (to use Peter's phrase) mesmerising....

What about this Son Heung-min we're being linked with? His style of play, i.e. completely rapid 'one man counterattack', with a rate of about 1 in 3 makes him sound like our flavour of vodka. Anybody know him? Perhaps even…love him? @Holle @rurikbird, you guys know yer German footy. What do yis say?

He's fast. Very fast.

He can play as a striker or on either wing.
Scored about 10 goals or so this year.

I'm not so sure about him as a striker but I could well imagine to do a job for us on the wing.

But all in all not exactly what we need.

What's your thinking there?

He's not going to oust the likes of Suarez or Sturridge but on paper he seems to fit pretty well - can play across the front line, fast, scores goals and young. An upgrade on Borini?

It's just a feeling.

Don't ge me wrong - he did well in Germany but he's no world-beater by any means.

I'm not even sure he's an upgrade on Borini.

His scoring record seems pretty decent for a young player who isn't an out-and-out striker. I'm not persuaded that Borini will ever be prolific.

[article=http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2014/05/26/harry-maguire-and-conor-coady/]Wolves are understood to have bid between £500,000 to £750,000 for £1m-rated midfielder Coady, 21, who spent the season on loan at Bramall Lane from Liverpool.

Scouser Coady is well known to Wolves head of recruitment Stuart Webber, as he came through the ranks at Anfield when Webber was the Reds’ director of recruitment.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Coady made 50 appearances for the Blades last season, mostly as an anchorman alongside Michael Doyle, and has modelled himself on Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard – even copying his running style.

Coady, who has a year left on his contract, has showed an eye for a goal, scoring six times, although he can also operate at centre-back. He has also made two appearances for Liverpool and has represented England at every level from Under-16s to Under-20s.

Mature for his age, Coady also possesses leadership qualities, having captained England Under-17s to the UEFA European Championships trophy in 2010, the national side in the 2013 Under-20s World Cup and being named skipper of Liverpool’s Under-21s from May last year.[/article]

[article=http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/pepe-reina-set-for-anfield-return-as-liverpool-struggle-to-agree-fee-with-napoli-9506813.html]Pepe Reina is set to return to Liverpool, after the goalkeeper’s agent revealed the Merseyside club and Napoli cannot agree a fee.

The Spaniard spent the 2013-14 campaign on loan in Naples after Liverpool signed Belgian Simon Mignolet to be their first-choice keeper.

Reina, who is in the Spain squad for the 2014 World Cup, enjoyed his first season in Italy and is keen to stay but his representative, Manuel Garcia Quilon, told Corriere dello Sport: "It's very difficult for Pepe to remain at Napoli.

"From June 30, he will return to Liverpool because they want to maximise his sale, and Napoli are not willing to spend what is required."

If the two clubs cannot agree a fee, it has been suggested that Reina may return to Spain, where Atletico Madrid are interested – but for the moment it looks as though Reina is heading back to England.

For Napoli, it is the second time this week they have been frustrated in their transfer dealings, after Standard Sportrevealed on Thursday that Tottenham are holding out for £15million for midfielder Sandro, with the Italians only willing to pay £9m for the Brazilian. [/article]

i would rather have a hungry(?) Reina as competition for Ming than a 5m Vorm.

Reina is earning too much ... we can't have oth of 'em ... I also don't know if he's an upgrade over Mign ...

Balotelli linked with Arsenal - 20 million quid
Pogba linked with Manure, while Juve is linked with Chicharito.
Kroos linked with Real Madrid.
