Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela, who has been linked with a summer return to Arsenal, says that he never enjoyed his time with the Gunners.
"I never felt comfortable in London and I never enjoyed it, however, when I got to Sociedad, I found a place where I was very happy, where I'm enjoying myself every day."

Arsenal have confirmed manager Arsene Wenger has signed a new contract with the club.

Wenger, who is the Premier League's longest-serving manager, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal that ties him to Emirates Stadium until May 2017.

Something tells me this is unfortunately complete bullshit.

However, if true would be an incredible signing. World class wing forward entering his peak years.

However, Barca have gone public to end the speculation and warn clubs to not bother enquiring about his availability during the close-season.
"Alexis is not a Barcelona player who is on the market," the Catalan club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu announced.
"He has a contract with us and that is the only thing that counts. He has had an excellent season for us.
"Obviously, he is part of our plans for next season. We have always wanted him here and he is a highly valued player at this club."

booooo!! are they sure? we'll give them glen johnson?

If we sign Alexis Sanchez I will cry big fucking whopper man-tears of joy. It will be like our slo-mo entrance back into the top tier nightclub of european football. With all the hot bitches eyes on us and all the jealous cunts wanting to be us.

So it's being widely reported that we've made a final £25m bid for Lallana, which I'm pretty sure they'll accept.

Echo is also saying that Moreno is likely to happen.

So Moreno, Lallana, and Lambert in before the World Cup.

Possibly Lovren and Can to follow. I think we could also do with going for Shaqiri too, but that might be wishful thinking.

Barrett is also saying that Borini will probably be sold to Sunderland for £12m. Would be a good deal that.

If we're selling Borini for £12million (fuck me what a fee) then we'd need another striker in, Shaqiri isn't a striker, so i'm not sure if he'd be a good buy in that situation, no matter how much I like him.

I'm not really sure we need a 4th striker. Certainly not compared to a second winger, because Sterling is the only one we have.

I love the fact that we're trying to complete all these deals early in the transfer window.

Based on the fees touted for Lallana and Moreno, I'm not sure I want us replacing Borini with another striking option.

Don't think it's worth the extra money we'll inevitably end up paying.

Most of the sources are saying we're paying a premium to wrap up the Lallana deal before the WC, but I have no idea why we're in such a hurry. I can't see a good performance doing any more than justifying the fee we paid at best, and that would be off a stellar performance.

If we wait it out, especially to the point where Southampton are obligated to sell him after all the deals they've done, we'll get a much better deal. Plus with our large contingent on his international squad, he'll likely be more interested in making the transfer happen, helping us negotiate a much better fee.

The deals we should be wrapping up are players are the ones whose fees could increase a ton with a good performance. That's chiefly Shaqiri, and possibly Alexis. Granted, I can't see us signing all three of these players, but the logic still holds. Shaqiri especially could have his value skyrocket with a good performance.

You could argue that a strong performance could also make Moreno a target for every major club out there, which makes sense why he's a priority target. But I can't see Lallana ballooning into a 35M or 40M player who every club would love, even with a fantastic WC performance. And by the sounds of things, we're the only club who's seriously interested in him, which makes it even more bizarre that we're willing to pay whatever price Southampton want, especially before a major tournament that will at best justify the price tag.

I'd be very surprised if Spurs don't come in for him. IF they don't then that says one of three things a) they have no cash until they sell b) MP doesn't rate him as much as we do or c) they already think his price is beyond his value. If it's a) then that would explain why we want to get this done early.

Or (d) they already have a ton of midfielders, so until Pochetinno gets to see them a little in training, he can't decide yet if he wants to bring in another or spend the money where they need better quality / reliability (e.g. strikers and defenders).

That'd be excellent if we can get the 5 of them in before the WC. Wonder who'll be going though and if we'll have to cover them off.
