Dante has been excellent nearly every time I've seen him but I'm convinced I'm forgetting someone better. Who were Atletico's 2 CB'e this season, they were very solid on the 3 or 4 occasions I saw them?
Maybe, but I wouldn't say no at the right price. I was impressed with him more than once when watching Palace last season.
We're going to need a bigger squad though, and they can't all be galacticos. Fair point about the youngsters but I'd expect that to have been taken into account when deciding whether or not to bid for a Bolasie type of player in the first place. If Jordon Ibe and others are ready then yes, put them in, but doing so too early could scupper them. It's a delicate balance and has to be struck one player at a time.
He has skill but no end product. A lot of times he goes into 'headless chicken' mode as he doesn't know what to do with the ball.
Don't think we'll sign all them
Arf, wrong thread........still very hungover.Don't think we'll sign all them
Bolasie and Albert Adomah (Middlesbro) have been the best 2 wide men I've seen in the lower divisions (1st & 2nd divisions) ever and I was amazed they never got a chance higher up until recently. Bolasie has done very well at palace and he's a decent wide option at this level but only as back-up or League Cup games or if we have an injury crisis and ONLY if we can get him for under £2m. My preference has always been for Adomah though who is a more potent player with much better end-product (including goals).Liverpool are keen on Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie, 25, who has just 12 months left on his current Selhurst Park deal.

Todays name pulled right out of someones arse.

I thought he would have been a decent option for £1m just before Middlesbro signed him and still think he'd be worth the investment if we could get him for under £2m. In moneyball terms....if we sold Assaidi for £6m-£7m and bought Adomah for £2m we'd have an extra £5m in the transfer kitty without sacrificing squad strength.
I'm very optimistic about Ibe next season and hope he gets his chance to shine but given that we're gonna need extra strength in depth to challenge on 4 fronts next season I see no reason why we shouldn't sign someone like Adomah. He could play all League Cup games, a few early rounds in the FA Cup and maybe even one or two league games if more established players need to be rested for a CL semi-final etc.Instead of Bolasie, let's stick with Ibe and hope he can break through.

He'd be so delighted playing for LFC that he'd be more than happy to sit on the bench and wait his turn, he wouldn't cost us more than about £15,000 - £20,000 per week in wages and he's actually a decent player with explosive speed (a better version of Bolasie).
Ibe, on the other hand, I'd love to see him become an integral (almost essential) part of our team by Xmas next season.
We played 43 games last season whereas City & Chelsea both played 57; hopefully we have to play at least 57 games next season and if so it would be great if the likes of Coutinho, Allen, Gerrard, Ibe, Sterling, Suarez, Henderson, Lallana* and Sturridge all played about 35-40 matches each to keep them fully fit and fresh. Rotation is the key but only if your squad is good enough and hopefully Ibe will prove good enough to be included regularly next season. I've no idea what a "realistic expectation" of Ibe is for next season but I've got a very good feeling about him admittedly based on very little evidence.I'm not sure that's a realistic expectation for Ibe. We've already got four first teamers in Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho and Sterling and will likely have a couple more come the start of the season. Ibe, if he doesn't go on loan, is probably going to be the guy happy to sit on the bench for 15K or whatever and play in the cups.
He had a decent season but no thanks, we need to be looking at real class in those positions plus theres our youngsters like Ibe who shouldn't be getting pushed out of the way for that calibre of footballer.
Atleti are signing Angel Correa it seems (@jimmy mentioned him a while back)
haha, isnt he 30 yr old or something, such shit reports sometimes
