Transfer Rumours

FULL-BACK Ashley Cole might not be the only player making the switch from Stamford Bridge to Anfield as Liverpool consider a move for Romelu Lukaku.
Cole is already widely rumoured to be considering an offer from Premier League runners up but he isn't the only man that Brendan Rodgers has been keeping an eye on.
Lukaku has been on loan at Liverpool's Merseyside rivals Everton and, after the departure of Andy Carroll, Brendan Rodgers believes the 21-year-old could be the target man he's after.
Lukaku is though to be fond of a move north after his success at the Toffees and Chelsea look willing to cash in as Jose Mourinho seeks to overhaul his squad this summmer.

I was talking to a very good source after the game on Sunday, he says Ashley Cole to Liverpool is nearly done.

And he's binned off England so no need to worry about that. Hopefully Stevie will do the same after the World Cup so he can keep his legs fresh

A LB of that quality? I'd be happy with this, and Enrique would probably move to Soton and his fee would cover Ashley's wages for a year (or two!)

Cole is still a very good left back and is a big improvement on what we've got.
As long as the wages are kept pretty low mind you.

Chris Bascombe says Yevhen Konoplyanka, Adam Lallana, Steven Caulker, Luke Shaw are on Liverpool's wanted list

I'd be over the moon if we signed Shaw and Lallana this summer, that would be incredible. Cant see Shaw happening though, he's the better out of the two and will have oil rich suiters that aren't arsed about FFP.

Hopefully we're keeping an eye on the situation with Diego Poyet. He is out of contract at Charlton (although they've offered him a new one) but Arsenal and Barcelona are apparently sniffing around. I'll be honest I've only seen him once (he looked good) but some Charlton fans describe him as their most exciting young player in many years (he turned 19 last month). He's a DM'er btw. He got into the team half way through the season, only played about 20 games but still won their player of the year award.

Obviously I'm a bit reluctant to recommend signing someone I've only seen once but given he's a freebie (although we might have to pay Charlton a small amount of compensation) I hope our scouts are looking into his position.

I would suggest it's gonna be worth paying Charlton £500,000 (at a guess) and then lending Poyet out to a newly promoted EPL team or a highly fancied Championship team and see how he progresses.

What do you think of Kieren Trippier, Arsenal seem to be sniffing around him for ages, I've only seen him once but he seems just the sort of player Rodgers would go for.

A little off topic but I once got chased by Cashley's mate/minder after my buddy papped him eating a kebab while looking well pissed and about to drive his car. I think he got busted not long after for drink driving. Still he's a great LB.

Not too long ago my other half asked me why everyone hates Ashley Cole so much, I gave her a brief explanation followed by my own opinion that he's a cunt. But then I told her I don't mind him as much anymore because he's getting old, he'll retire soon enough then fade away and we won't have his annoying little face on tv anymore.

He's going to become a fucking Liverpool player isn't he.

He'll be a boss signing if we can keep his wages low enough.

Two world class full backs who are old enough to not mind missing games whilst others play but can still offer something would be boss.

Agreed, but who's the other world class full back?

Play Raheem right back, we need to put him somewhere when we sign Sanchez, Lallana and Konoplyanka

He is a stunningly good player at Championship level and I'd be very confident he's good enough to play for top EPL team. He is defensively secure but it is his attacking prowess that amazes. He bombs forward non-stop; he has given away 31 free kicks this season but being fouled himself 55 times as teams try and stop him. He scored 2 this season and has a stunning 15 assists! Not a one season wonder either as he had 11 assists last season.
