Transfer rumours

Yes, if Reddy, Pearce, or Joyce say owt, it's on like Donkey Kong. But of course, they don't say anything after the Virge debacle.

So Utd have signed Bruno Fernandes after he's been whored out for the last couple of years every transfer window. Wonder why no big clubs have taken the bait. He has impressive stats in a poor league, but some very decent players come out of that league.
I suspect even if he is any good, he'll be ruined in no time playing there.

Yeah, he's been linked to us, City, United and Spurs - the latter two more regularly - over the last year or two.

I suspect it's the size of the fee that's been an obvious stumbling block, since it's been around 60-80m and that's pretty steep for most clubs, even rich Premier League teams.

It's hard to predict how he will fare, as you say the Portuguese League isn't a reliable indicator of quality, and Fernandes isn't the biggest or most imposing figure, but then I reckon United will look to the two Silvas at City and think he can do the same for them. They deffo need some creativity and technical quality in the midfield.

According to 5Live:

Liverpool didn't go for him because of how much he loses the ball, he is weak defensively, and has a lack of tactical thinking.
Spurs didn't go for him because they spent so much on Ndombele.
City don't actually need him, not that it has ever stopped them, but they need to be careful around FFP.
For United they need a quick fix win now scenario, and he is worth the gamble, as even if his stats drop in a better league they'd still be higher than what they have.
