Transfer Rumours 21/22

Improve? For sure. He'll get so many soft FKs for KDB to score.

Massively? Who knows. He needs to adapt to Tiki-Taka like Mahrez has had to, who imo is more talented.

Grealish is a ball-hog who is sometime guilty of overplaying.

Pep likes tip-tappy bellend football, where the emphasis will be on a lot of short, crisp passing. He'll also need to deal with the fact he's competing against top players week in, week out.
Sterling and Mahrez are ball hogs and do just fine.
I think Grealish is like that for a lack of options.
Time will tell but it’s disgusting that the 100m is immaterial. They’ve added yet another superb attacker to their squad who brings something different.

If by significant you mean (expropolating) an extra 3-4 combined goals/assists, then no not particularly significant at all, especially since 2 of Ings' goals were penalties ... and that he created very few chances for others (Bobby 11 vs Danny 3).

This is one of the major differences, Bobby is a team player (42 assists in 211 matches) whereas Danny is more of a traditional CF (13 assists in 140 matches).

To clarify, 20/21 season:

Firmino
Pld 36 - Gls 9 - Assts 7 - Big chances created 11 Woodwork 3 Penalties 0 Big Chances missed 13

Ings
Pld 29 - Gls 12 - Assts 4 - Big chances created 3 Woodwork 1 Penalties 2 Big Chances missed 6

Oh and if we are discussing Bobby's drop off then how about Danny's ?
22 goals from 36 games the season before, to 12 from 29 last. These being exceptional seasons for him because the previous season at Southampton only yielded 7 goals from 24 matches.
Are you seriously saying 25% isn’t a significant difference even if you extrapolate it as you have?

It’s huge.

Firmino’s drop off has been consistent for three years, getting worse each year.

2 is 100% larger than 1 but of course it's still just 1 more so using percentages instead of actual numbers isn't at all relevant in comparing Bobby/Danny's 2020/21 performances.

12 is 3 more than 9, two of which were penalties, so no, NOT huge at all. And you have very conveniently forgotten the assists and link play where Ings is miles behind. Conclusion : there's no way I'd take Ings over Firmino, even just based on last season (likely an aberration due to numerous mitigating circumstances).

When you talking output at the very top of the game 25% is huge and that includes assists btw so don’t know where you got that idea.
Firmino is effectively finished and has been for 18 months.

FFS your logic is addled, you're trying to argue against solid stats for a man who is not a team player. Clearly it's more about a dislike of Firmino (the current player) than accuracy. It's just not worth the debate.

The truth is somewhere in between, but Pat is definitely full of hyperbole to get his point across.

We all know he's not a big goalscorer and his peak stats from a few years ago were never likely to be maintained. He has dropped off, as is expected with age, but it would be idiotic to not give the bulk of the starting XI a clean slate this season, given the domino effect that our injuries had last season. He's still a clever, valuable player who can and will contribute. We need another attacker to push the front three (maybe Jota, Elliott or even Ox can do that), but he's not dead and buried yet - as soft arse would, in typically hysterical OTT fashion, have us believe.

One thing is for certain, Bobby will continue to do work that flies under the radar, he'll also have shit and excellent games and continue to divide opinion. As long as we are winning games, no one will give a fuck. If we lose games and he is one of the main culprits in letting the percentages drop, then he'll rightly get criticised for it.

FFP where are you you fucking cunts. what do these clowns actually stand for?

City have spent over 400m since they last sold a player of note.

If that's what you want to believe go for it.

His personal opinion is that he reckons we'll sign a couple, but that's not based on any insider info.

My post was more a dig at optimistic posters.

I think there has been enough smoke to suggest that Klopp would like to bring in a replacement for Gini, whether that's Saul l, Neuhas or somebody we've never heard of I've no idea. However thats inevitably going to be dependent on shifting Shaq and or Origi. I think Shaq will go, Origi probably not.

We're definitely interested in Neuhaus and have spoken with his representatives. I don't know about Saul or anybody else.

Guardiola has spent 918 mill £ as City manager. Average transfer fee id 41 mill £.
No problem, they can sell some youngsters. Lolz

Angelino to Leipzig, Jack Harrison to Leeds - all above 10 million.
Neither count as 1 never even stepped through the gates at whatever the fuck their training ground name is called and the other played about 10 minutes for them during his 20 years there.
