Isn't the issue that he takes up a foreign player spot in the squad? He is 21 now, so not sure he qualifies as an U21 player (though I have no idea of the rules)

Does loaning a foreign player out count as having that slot available?

I think Kabak still qualifies as an U21 player this season as he was born after 1st Jan 2000 - I believe you’re classified as U21 as long as you’re turn 21 in the calendar year the league starts.

So I believe we could sign him and not need to register him until next season.

Even if he wasn’t classified, we could loan him out - same as we did with Gruijic - the registration is only to be able to play in the EPL.

Next season if we wanted him to play we’d have to shift an overseas player - Matip would be the obvious choice.

It doesn’t react matter - looks like we can’t even afford him on a free.
