Transfer Rumours 21/22

41 mill £ with 1 year left on his contract, not sure if anyone would have been laughed at that seeing as he wanted to leave and they risked losing him for free in 2022.

The idea of Varane going to Utd irrespective of fee would've seemed unthinkable a few years ago.

But sure, had you have told someone that in a post pandemic world where La Liga is looking less appealing to top players and Real and Barca are both under huge economic strain that Varane with a year left on his contract would end up at Utd , it would seem a bit more plausible. Better?

True, agree with your point.
Interesting to hear that we are one of the clubs that have repaid the Covid loans we aquired during last season. While Utd have not and are probably spending that money now. Their massive debt is increasing even further.

Is Utds debt spiralling? My understanding was that for all the tantrums thrown by their fans the debt was slowly being paid down and their income streams were continuing to grow making it less and less of an issue. Covid has no doubt blown their budgets for a year or two like every other club, but in the long term they are simply too profitable, anybody banking on a financial implosion at Old Traffors is going to be left disappointed.

And fuck right off with Traore.
He was unplayable in one game right in front of Klopp's dugout, and he developed a crush.
And that crush is right. We need a powerhouse steamroller in the team, we dont have any, unless we sign Grealish which we wont now. Klopp will change him, and those of you still hoping for Nabi to come good are fucking deluded. We need a Traore, someone who will drag defenses and exhaust them. Yes I know last season was not good for him, but i think its because he was hoping to be at another club, but hey we can argue that a load of our best players had a shit show for most of last season.

Nah, I don't agree. Traore is not the right quality. The comparison to Grealish is not valid at all.
Traore is strong and can dribble, but struggles as fuck with the end product, whereas Grealish is a creative hub who makes things happen in attack.

I hope Klopp gets a hand job somewhere to get some release, and stay the fuck away from Traore.

Didn't Mané basically down tools and play like shit for 6 months after his proposed transfer fell through. I don't think Traore has that high a ceiling but there was a similar vibe about his form last year.

We’re firmly in the ‘digging down the back of the sofa’ phase of the transfer window aren’t we? Then it’ll move into the count the change phase as the season starts.

Haha, Foot Mercato or whatever they are called in France claim Raiola have offered Pogba to us. Has to be the worst rumour so far.

Is it worst than claiming we bid 88m for Cheisa or whatever it was.
The Cheisa rumour got more than a few column inches, the Pogba rumour will be talked about on Social Media, and get the original source publicity and footprint. Look at the FirmBL, a couple (virgin) British Pakistanis making guesses from their bedroom, but their guess has paid off, as they have over 17k followers

True or False, ... would not want him even if he was free. The guys a one or two moment per game player at his best.

Grealish from my other posts - you will know high high I rate him, and personally I would blow the unspent transfer budget (that Imagine we have) on him for this season - seriously I think he will turn out to be one the best players in the world right now. Dont' care that he plays for Vila - he just is.

Now I guess the issue we have is that we also have a young and very able ball retention dribbler player in Curtis Jones, just needs to sort out his decision making and I am hoping he turns out just as good as Grealish. The problem I have is that we have no blistering monster run at you - draw the opposition defenders in bulk to stop the monster type player. Our front 3 at their best are prolific and do a lot of damage BUT - I think over the last two seasons they are not getting decisions go their way when fouled and are easily dispossessed when trying to dribble a lot of the time.

Traore at his best which I believe Klopp will get out of more consistently, will force it and be like a Rashford, Sancho type player for us, and who knows - maybe his end product will improve because of the quality of our front players. Yes he will be our poor mans Rashford/Sancho type but we can turn him into something world class with both Salah/Mane. When Traore players as a central forward type - he can cause havoc to defenses - just watch some of his games when he was at Boro before he joined Wolves.

Can I also ask - is this guy Saul any good ? - I know he plays for AM, but honestly when I saw them play against Chelsea I thought they were so defensive and slow as a team - I just find it hard that he will be any good for us.

Most commentators would say he was poor last season.
If Klopp can get him to recapture his past form he is easily a £70m player plus.

Was rated as one of the world's best young players at one stage. I recall posters on this forum raving about him a few years back.

Seriously? More chance of finding gold at end of a rainbow, alongside a unicorn and fairies.
Even if he wasn't at Man United, he is very French with his attitude.

Yes, his attitude stinks and his ego needs too much placating I guess.
Some midfielder though.
