I can't quite understand the signing for Konate tbh, when we had Philips as cover and the money paid for Konate (36m) could hve been better used elsewhere.
The only way it makes any real sense is if there are plans to move either Maptip or Gomez on this summer

We can sign as many people as we want - but it means any unregistered player can’t pkay.

Gallagher, for example, could only playing he was registered, as he’s now over 21 - which will be why he’s off.

Karius will likely be loaned out again as we aren’t going to register him.

It makes sense because he’s the long term replacement for Lovren that we didn’t sign last summer and had a higher skills ceiling than Phillips.

Neither Matip or Gomez are being sold - although Matip is likely to be phased out over the next season or so. Selling either of them this summer would make zero sense because their respective values would be at a low point .

Philips is a brilliant defender but is slow, and the highline Klopp likes to play is compromised. I am guessing Kanote and Gomez will rotate between CB and RB

Liverpool have NOT made an official bid for Federico Chiesa despite rumours. There’s nothing going on and no chance to sign him this summer. #LFC Liverpool board knows about Juventus stance. Chiesa is considered ‘untouchable’ - FC Bayern are aware of this decision too.

There's no telling how VVD and Gomez will come back, Matip can't be counted on. Konate is viewed as a long term successor to VVD, so it made sense to strike whilst his release clause was active. We know with strong CBs we can win the highest honours, so I maintain it was money well spent providing Konate can stay fit!

41 mill £ for Varane is because he has one year left on his contract. White has 3 and add the English premium.
But, its quite insane when you see the difference in quality between the two players.
