Transfer Rumours 21/22

I thought you had more intelligence than that - but if that's what you see. *shrugs*

Its not about one more player though, its about complementing the squad so you dont have to play anyone out of position or start a young player that isnt ready.

City signing Robinho or Jo, Chelsea signing Mutu or Shevchenko or Utd signing Veron have nothing to do with that in all honesty. Luxury signings based on their name compared to complementing your squad with a player that doesnt have to cost much.

Conor Gallagher could be sold from Chelsea for 35 mill £. If true we should be all over that.

Why? He's not creative, and we've already got a willing runner in Elliot. Our system wouldn't suit Gallagher, same as he doesn't suit Chelsea's.

If klopp were to change our system, then I'd be grand with going for Gallagher.

He was literally excellent in Vieira's 4-3-3 last season. Their creative driving force from midfield. He'd suit Klopp to a tee I reckon in a LCM role.

He doesnt suit Chelsea cause they play a 3-4-3, and they cant seem to find a place for him in that tactical approach with 2 central midfielders. Not the first good player Chelsea cant get to work in their own system.

Klopps Liverpool does not play the same as vieras palace. He's best when bombing forward and scoring, something klopp doesn't seem to like our midfielders to do. Our midfield is designed to retain and recycle possession to the full backs or forwards. Tuchel, whilst playing a 343, does want his midfielders to retain the ball and releast the forward players; something gallagher struggled horribly with against leeds.

He's a good player, he just doesn't fit our system in any way shape or form

He struggled horribly against Leeds for other reasons than not being able to retain possession, that is a weak argument to say the least. Chelsea were overrun all over the pitch and were generally awful. Losing possession from just about every player that received the ball.

Obviously we play in an other way than Vierias Palace, but he's mostly effective as an 8. A box to box all round midfielder. Great work ethic, pressing, passing ability, tracking back and is comfortable in possession deep in his own half and in front of goal.

He'd suit us, no doubt. But its a moot point regardless as Chelsea probably wont sell to us.

I'm sure as they're desperate for players in other areas, they might sell to us. I just remain to be convinced. I remember him being a bit Grealish at Palace, i.e. give him the ball and he'll run with it until he loses it. No doubt talented, but i think he needs to be the focal point of a midfield, rather than a grafter within a system.

He would thrive at a palace, or a west ham, where they need someone with a bit of dynamism to take a game by the scruff of the neck. Hell, even at Rafas liverpool he would have been a capable understudy to gerrard. I remain unconvinced.

Fwiw, he got more tackles, interceptions, blocks and key passes per game than Henderson and Keita last season.
Dont think he has any problem with being a grafter in a team and work hard.
He ended up with a pass percentage of 81,5 % in a team like Palace, and scoring 8 goals.

Klopp would turn him into a great player for us I reckon.

Hendo and keita are shite tbf

I've no doubt klopp could work wonders, but he'd also limit his playing style. Why turn an attacking player like gallagher into a posession recycler? I'd rather spend the money on a midfielder who can come right in, rather than need bedding in

Dont think he would need that in all honesty, and getting our 8s involved attacking wise is certainly something Klopp likes.

So… are we selling Trent to Real or Barca to fund the rebuild if our entire right side - RM, RN & RW????

I dont think Chelsea will sell him to us for 35 million. But if they did, we should be all over that. Even if he does not do well, which I dont think will happen, we can sell him for the same amount or higher.

Premier League clubs net spend this window is more than the other leagues added together SIX TIMES over.

Premier League: £-875m
La Liga: -£104m
Ligue 1: -£19m
Serie A: -£13m
Bundesliga: -£4m

The fact United were trying to sign De Jong has conditioned to think he's both overpriced and shit, but I'll try and look beyond that. The lad can clearly play. One benefit of him is that he's been playing some variations of the 4-3-3 since leaving the womb.

Thar said, I just can't see us entertaining a deal for him this late into the window, especially with all the complexity surrounding his contract and deferred payments.

He’s no Matheus Nunes!!!!
No he isn't but he is really really good.
Isn't there still an issue of unpaid wages? Moreover, Chelsea who are in CL too are offering higher wages plus a higher transfer fee. If there is any truth to it then it's the club knowing it will placate some of the fanbase but knowing it won't come off
