So glad love island is back on…
I need a distraction from all this possible excitement
😀
I've never watched an episode, what's the draw? I've seen clips, they all lie around a pool and ditsy bird will say something stupid and another stupid bird would agree with her

So does one person get booted off every week, and then you have one winner? I still can't grasp what the draw is. It's Bigbrother but with only attractive people, right?

They couple up, sometimes it works sometimes it’s a disaster haha…the couple the viewers vote for at the end win the money , think it’s 50 grand but they get lots of tv work out of it too..
michael owens daughter is in it this time, she’s only 19 and rather feisty, knows what she wants lol
it can be rather funny too

It's shit TV red rose. I expected better from you. Aircrash Investigations is more drama than love island

I'm a still not completely sold on Saka. Certainly not for the prices quoted. He's got a slight whiff of overhyped English player about him. He's definitely talented, but as of now his end product is decidedly average. You're banking on him adding that to his game, which for £80m or so is a big gamble.

would trust Klopp to make or not make that gamble …they’re all a gamble tbh and imo
some more than others no doubt ..

The few times I’ve seen Gordon (in the first team) I’ve really struggled to see what the fuss is about.

He’s got no real pace or physical attributes to set him apart so really it’s a case of looking for Elliot style qualities that were hard to observe in his first few outings (which is fair enough).

For those who have seen him properly in youth teams what am I missing and what qualities do you think stand him in good stead to “make it”.

I thought the same as you tbh. Very lightweight and not really combative enough to make up for it.

I think the exact opposite. One of the best young players I've ever seen in that wide forward position. Wonderful balance and close control and seems to be intelligent, plays with his head up etc.

I don't know what you're talking about re his pace, either, although I've seen a few people say the same. He's very fast. Last pre-season we were literally leaving him on the last man and just pinging balls through to him, like he was a young Owen or something.

So yeah not really sure what you're talking about there tbh.

Shipping a serious injury didn't help him, but I saw enough before that to make me optimistic about his prospects. I reckon he'll come good.

Far be it from me to question Klopp and our coaching staff, but I always found it weird that we played him on the right, as a kind of "inverted" midfielder. I get that in the front 3, but it seems way more questionable doing it in the inside of the pitch, especially if you lack pace. I always thought the point was to give defenders a dual threat to worry about - Salah eg can use his left foot if he comes inside or his pace on the outside. But Elliott doesn't have any pace, and he doesn't even have the space playing there to attack if he was quick.

Wouldn't he be better having most of the pitch to play passes into with his left foot? I mean, that's his main quality, isn't it? I don't really get it.

Some excellent points there and I'm not sure the question of Elliott's (eventual) best role is settled in the management's minds yet. It may well be that his longer-term future lies in a different position.
