Transfer Rumours 21/22

This isn't me championing Raphinha btw. This is me calling out the bullshit of "he doesn't look like he cares". Thats an irrelevance. Talent is talent and it's the managers job to motivate players.

Some players can do it on their own, some players will never do it even with the best manager in the world.

Thing about Pulisic is he always rips our defenders to shreds. But his finishing isn't great.
The cunts also still only 23.

He's very direct, something mane had started to lose (mainly due to his pace going slightly).

Christ i'm coming round to the idea

Yeah not for me, thanks. Thought we dodged a bullet when Chelsea outbid us on Pulisic. Same with Werner.

If we want to keep at this level, or improve, then we want elite players, not castoffs.

Mo Salah and KDB hardly set the world a light when they were at Chelsea.
Those cast off's didn't turn out too bad 😉

If I remember rightly, Pulisic didn't turn us down so to speak last time. Klopp liked him, but didn't think he was worth £58m that Chelsea ultimately offered. Or am I misremembering?

Wasn't it 2017 where he did turn us down for £13m?

Dunno about 2017 but at the point Chelsea paid £58m we definitely felt that was too much for someone who was going to be back up. Mind you, that was with Mane, Salah and Bobby around the peak of their powers. If we could get him for £50m now I'd say that was good value - though I'd want whoever comes in to be able to play on the right as well. Not sure Pulisic can, but I might be wrong.

I know he's a massive twat, and we've had the discussion already, but if there's any chance Kane would be available I'd be trying to bring him in. He's pretty much the best striker around who can assist as much as he scores. He's 28 or 29 now, and we'd be paying over £100m, but I think he could have an Alisson/Van Dijk level of impact. I know he doesn't currently press all that much, but maybe he would, and I think he's create and score a tonne for us. I think we'd clean up.

Weird to say, but i wouldn't massively be opposed to tammy abraham. Completely unlikely however

Being realistic, I think we may go into the season backing Jota and Bobby to be good enough at 9. We know already that is no player exactly fits our needs then Klopp won't make a move in the market. It's a risk we've taken time and time again.

We might see Raphinha coming in with a view to being Salahs long term replacement. There's a deal to be done if Taki is willing to join Leeds.

I'm not sure that is being realistic. Jota was not first choice throughout last season and Bobby is clearly now just a very good bench option. I'd be very surprised that IF Mane leaves we don't replace him, though I'd be surprised if that happened before he's actually done and dusted (or more likely ... at the same time).

Credible links (Paul Joyce etc) with a genuine effort to get Nunez tonight. But hints that we’re some way apart with fee right now.

Barcelona have told Liverpool's Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, 29, he can join the club on a free transfer once his contract with the Reds expires next summer.

Keep him another year and spend £10m + on wages or sell this some an hopefully get £50m + and re-invest... Know what I would do

Lads…. Just get used to the fact that the only forward we’re going to be signing this season is Rhiann Brewester when we trigger our buy-back clause.

Once you make peace with that, it’ll make the rest of the transfer window much more fun.

People need to stop panicking. The season only ended 2 weeks ago. We've had no firm offers for any of our forwards who knows Mane might stay

This.

I want Nunez , he feels like the sort of generational talent that'll allow the club to pivot away from Salah ,mane and bobby over the next 2 years

I like Nunez as well but albeit watching him in just a few games. Should we be worried about his first touch and technical ability? Has anyone watched him enough to have a better opinion?

Read that his goalscoring ability is up in the 96th percentile. His movement and finishing is beyond execellent.

I have no issues with having one goalscorer with poor touch and technical ability, just a single minded eye for goal.

But isn't that what Jota is already?

I think he's the best of the options available to be honest. I don't see a stand out candidate otherwise. Lautaro Martinez perhaps? But there's something about him that doesn't make me think he's a Liverpool player.

Re: Nunez, he doesn't have to have the first touch of Berbatov to be a good player. That combination of pace, athleticism and work rate is kind of a guarantee of a certain level of end product. If there are holes in his game, I will trust Klopp to sort them out.
