Getting Saka would be a huge statement imo. Can fill in at left back, play on both wings, young, English. Reckon he has a ceiling as high as Sterling

The price would be over £50m plus. I wouldn't be surprised if Arse ask £70m for him. Pepe is a disaster, may be they will try to get rid of him?

This Is AnfieldLiverpool FC NewsLiverpool FC Transfer Rumours
Liverpool “keen to sign” 19-year-old with 10 assists and £8m release clause

Liverpool are claimed to be “keen to sign” Reading midfielder Michael Olise, who is tied with Harvey Elliott on 10 assists in the Championship and available for £8 million.
Olise is set to be one of the under-the-radar bargains of the summer transfer window, with the 19-year-old believed to have an £8 million release clause in his contract with the Royals.

It serves as a relatively paltry outlay for a player who made his debut in the Championship at just 17 in 2019, and this season is joint-second in the second tier when it comes to assists (10).
Only Norwich’s Emi Buendia (12) has laid on more than Reading’s No. 7, who is level with both Elliott and Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, and above both of those in terms of chances created per 90 minutes (1.9).
The teenager is already a first-choice starter at the Madejski, capable of playing as a No. 10, on both wings and deeper in midfield, and has gone on to play 66 times for Reading so far.
But this season could well be his last in Berkshire, as according to Eurosport‘s Dean Jones, Liverpool are among a host of clubs “keen to sign” the youngster in the summer.
Jones names Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Man City, Chelsea, Napoli and Monaco as other interested parties, however, and with The Athletic reporting on his £8 million release clause in December, it could be a tough task to sign Olise.
Born in France to Nigerian parents, Olise has represented his birth country at youth level but is also eligible to play for England and was named in Nigeria’s standby list for last month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
featureimage-39-600x400.jpg

Prior to joining Reading in 2016 he spent time in the City and Chelsea academies, and has been compared to Jack Grealish in terms of his ability to step up to the Premier League.
It makes sense for Liverpool to at least be tracking Olise’s progress due to his clear potential, and it would be no surprise if a move was being weighed up for the summer due to his price tag.
Furthermore, Olise would qualify as a homegrown player, which could be vital next season if any of Nat Phillips, Ben Davies or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, for example, depart.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s recent struggles could highlight an opening in the squad for Olise, too, as a player at his best in midfield but also capable of filling in at an exceptional standard on the flanks.
Olise is a creative talent that Jurgen Klopp would surely relish moulding, and he could give Liverpool immense value in the years ahead.

I’d be all over that. This kid is the future - there are very few players in any position I would sign ahead of him if there is a chance.

0% chance of leaving Arsenal - him and ESR are the future of that team.
What I would do is bid ~20-30 million for Martinelli and see if they bite ... because they don't play him ... and in Liverpool, he has Becker, Fabinho and Bobby - not to mention the aura of King Lucas

Top player, but like stated above, there are about 10 players they would sell before him.

This is more likely.

Nothing is 0% - they did well to convince him to sign a long-term contract last season, but what now? They will probably have no European football at all next season; the squad is in need of a major clear-out and rebuild with unclear long-term perspectives. Of course if you ask Arteta and the fans, they will say sell everyone and build around Saka, Smith-Rowe, Martinelli, Tierney etc – but the owners might see things differently. It wouldn't be the first or the last time a club sells one of their best talents to fund the rebuild or close the budget gap and now that he's signed to a long-term deal they are in position to cash in if they want to.

And from the perspective of convincing the player, of course us getting the CL football next season could be an important factor, but I think the main unintended benefit of this season's debacle will be that potential recruits will not feel like they will be stuck hopelessly on the sidelines of a title-winning machine that is functioning perfectly well without them. Now our formation and lineup next season are anyone's guess and a player as versatile and talented as Saka would definitely fancy his chances of getting into the team. I have so far not heard anything about Klopp's opinion on Saka (other than that we tired hard to sign him on a free last year, which anyone would do to be fair), but I'm sure this is exactly the kind of player he cherishes – someone who can play anywhere across the pitch not because he can't excel in any one position, but because the talent is too wide-ranging to be pinned down and the possibilities are endless. I know not everyone agrees with me, but I think he's a generational midfield talent with potential to reach Gerrard-De Bruyne levels and the more I see him, the more convinced I become.

Maybe I'm completely off the mark and just constructed this alternative reality in my head, but I see it as almost the Sterling situation in reverse – where a young, presumably ambitious, English player with a unique skill-set can potentially be tempted to leave a club that has done nothing but good for his development and desperately wants to build around him. Klopp has been on the short end of this stick so many times with Dortmund; maybe he would like to be the big bad Bayern for once. And I would be absolutely OK with becoming the cunts we accuse others of being, because the boy's worth it.

Saka is a generational talent, and I think for his own career, should give Arsenal 2-3 more years as he'll play every week guaranteed and continue on his development curve.

Bar Sterling (it's different than Saka - Saka has come up through their youth system, left a team on the decline without a massive contract extension and moved to the *best* team in England, who were still rising and would always compete due to their owners), I cannot think of any other team selling a ~19/20 year old kid who was the pulse of their team to a rival who wasn't breaking a transfer record in the process.

We should have made a massive play for him and Martinelli before their contract extensions ... I don't think it's realistic now, and if they do leave, they'll go to Man U, Man City or Chelsea, who will pay top dollar. We just don't do that.

{td}Haaland or Mbappe only become remotely possible for LFC if a major player was to leave. As things stand I don't expect that to happen.{/td}

Translation.. if we could swap Salah for Mbappe.. Klopp wouldn't be too adverse to the idea.

The £20-30m in wages is another considering factor. Out of our league. Considering how much PSG have spent all they have to show for it is 1 final.

Just scored 2 in the space of 2 mins today

Could have completed a hattrick

Looks like he’s developing his game nicely. Goal-scoring was the one thing he lacked.

Apparently we sent scouts to watch Angelo Gabriel. Not sure how he'd get a work permit.

Santos have name dropped us as one of the sides from Europe watching him.
