It looks like we will be disappointed.

Regarding Spurs attempt to sign Damiao a few days back

The 23-year-old Brazil international, who was top scorer at the Olympics, is a long-term target for Spurs but the Londoners are ready to concede defeat for another transfer window after failing to agree a transfer fee.

Goal.com understands Internacional rejected an offer worth around £18m for Damiao last week, claiming the bid did not meet their valuation and that they want to keep the player until the end of the Brazilian domestic season in December.

The deal has been complicated by Internacional’s changing stance as well as the number of people with economic interests in Damiao, with the strategic partnership between the clubs doing little to smooth over a deal.

The window for players being eligible for Saturday/Sunday closes at 12 noon so 30 mins to go for Sturridge vs Arsenal to be possible

Cited in for 5!

Roberto Mancini has confirmed he is hoping Manchester City will announce five deals on Friday's transfer deadline day.

Deals for Scott Sinclair and Richard Wright are already in place, but they are also hoping to conclude moves for Maicon from Inter Milan, Matija Nastasic of Fiorentina and Benfica's Javi Garcia.
