He's developed a cult following from the local support wherever he's went. He was getting rave reviews in Scotland particularly, and both Old Firm clubs tried to secure his services on loan, and whilst Burley was manager at Southampton, he was playing brilliantly for them.

He made a lot of the other boys look like headless chickens by comparison.
[/quote]My mates a Saints season ticket holder and he loved Hammill.

Both Hammill and Amoo ought to be on the bench for plenty of our games this season as far as I'm concerned. They're fast and clever players, and ideal to come on when we need something different.

I'm not sure Amoo is "clever". He seems to have less of a brain than Cisse whenever I've seen him.

Hammill should definitely be getting a chance ahead of El Zhar though.

I don't mean he's about to graduate. I mean he's now quick and much more aware than he was a year ago (and he's hardly as experienced as Cisse was, so the comparison isn't very fair). I think aiming to use them as impact subs would do them much more good than ignoring them apart from an isolated outing in the League Cup.

In place of whom?

Subs late in a game? In place of anyone. Or do you mean in place of whom on the bench? Depends on the game.

The latter.

The only way they're gonna get on the bench is if we have injuries of catastrophic proportions.

In Scotland, when the 7 sub rule was brought in, it was stated that one player must be a sub keeper and that two of the players (out of the seven) must be under 21 years of age. I think something like that would be good in England.
