That was very much a top of the table performance. Very mature, assured and confident, with all of the players quite happy to move around and support each other. Ayala and Darby were solid in defence. Threlfall made some strong and effective challenges, but needs to get a bit fitter. Irwin was his usual busy and inventive self linking defence with attacks. Palsson, when he came on, was very powerful, passed well, had a couple of good shots and was a dominant figure in the middle. Buchtmann also looked a formidable presence when he came on later, adding further strength and urgency down the left. Eccleston and Amoo were as expected: fast, direct and lively, and Amoo deserved a hat trick. But the star was Pacheco without a doubt: stronger and pacier than he's seemed in the past, very clever, very confident, full of tricks but now much more urgent and decisive where it matters. he had a hand in most of what we created, had a couple of brilliant runs and all in all gave a performance that just screamed 'Give me a chance in the first team!'
