These quotes are from the Daily Star, so maybe they're just invented? If not, though, they're quite surprising and interesting. I think I could take us selling Mascher if it meant getting David Villa...

I don't think we should sell our finest defensive midfielder just to fund another striker.

Wouldn't make any sense in my book really.

Villa on behalf of Masher would evidenlty mean that we would revert back into a 4-4-2 instead of refine our splendid 4-3-3 formation that worked so well in the second half of last Season.

Given how defensively hardworking our widemen are, I don't even think it'd be unbalanced. And an attacking trio of Gerrard, Torres and Villa would scare the shit out of everybody.
 
valencia want 50 mil so its safe to say villa isn't going to be playing with a liverbird on his chest any time soon.

It'd definitely improve the team if we got him. Torres x Villa duo is great.

But then there's Barca... so I think there's a far bigger chance he'll end up there.

I think that Xabi would not look so good without Mascherano.
 
The whole damn team wouldn't look so good without Mascherano. It isn't just Xabi who would have to do more of the defensive stuff - at which none of them is as good as El Jefecito.

Me neither. Bojan may be Catalan, but he's not really all that good, is he? Villa pisses all over him.
 
Valencia should accept the deal for cash and Negredo because they get a 20 goal a season striker, even if they're really after 40-50m and someone pays it them they still have to find a replacement and possibly another striker. Bojan is no use to them
 
So Torres coming out publically and saying he'd love Villa here, Villa mentioning the only english club he wants top play for us, and now this guy (who apparently knows his stuff), saying we're in for him, and have already completed a deal for Silva.

Sounds too good to be true.
