Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I couldn't care less about players wanting to leave. I said the same about Xabi (although I was heartsore) and Mascherano.

We are not as good as we use to be but there's light at the end of the tunnel. The club is still here.

We hold all the aces here. Torres has a long-term contract and we don't need to sell. The Chavs aren't shy to spend so £50+ will certainly do.

Jesus, it's only football.
Fuck Torres IF he really wants to leave now.

A Manc would say that.

Don't believe him

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Lets say.....given the facts....We sign Suarez and sell Torres for 35m plus Anelka (who is the player they are offering NOT sturridge).
That gives us 15m profit. We could whack 20m in for young and end up with

-----------adam-----------meireles--------------
------------------gerrard------------------------
Young-------------------------------------suarez
-------------------anelka------------------------

Isnt that a lifetime better than what we have had? Emotion aside.

Ha, there is actually a rumour about City wanting him. Offering 70 mill + Johnson.

Probably bollocks though

Most rumours are.

Bollocks to that. £50 mill.plus, with or without a player makeweight, or he stays.

i totally accept that he's been disappointed by winning nothing, but what i don't understand is that chelsea offer barely more chance of trophies than we do. they might not even make the CL ffs! their best players are over 30, and even if abramovich agrees to another massive splurge it's extremely unlikely to bear immediate fruit like it did under mourinho.

i could understand if it was barcelona, or even arsenal. but i can't understand chelsea, and especially not even being willing to give us until the summer.
Chelsea have a rich owner and a great spine. They're still in the title race and they'll definitely play CL football next season. Maybe Chelsea are the only team bidding for him. Maybe Torres is really pissed off with how the board has handled this season. We'll see.

I'm glad he's not joining MU like Owen, though.
And like when Owen left, I REALLY hope we win something big next season with Kenny.

We don't hold all the aces though Roland. If it is true and he wants to go he'll just fanny about for the rest of the season doing us no favours whatsoever

IF Torres leaves I'd sign Fernando Llorente.

Re: Anelka

He's 31, he's got a couple of years in him. Either way, we have three days of the window left, he's an experienced PL player who can slot right in.

Of course we should look for a more long term solution come the summer.
He'll be 32 in march and is having a poor season. Still he would be a good addition if Torres leaves as he might find some form if allowed to play as proper striker. It would have to be nearer to £50+Anelka though.

It'll be the wages. They'll be making him the highest-paid player in football, certainly English football. Maybe they've added a rider that the wages go down if he doesn't force us to let him go this month.
possibly so. the idea that someone who earns over £5m a year could be motivated by money is generally too depressing for me to contemplate, though.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Still dont believe it! Guillem Balague is a sensationalist twat. Always has been. He's staying and we're gonna hammer the chavs 6 nil next weekend, a rhyming pair of hat tricks for torres and suarez! Believe! 8)

Yeah I agree long term. But the reality is if this deal goes through, it will be last minute and we won't have enough time to do a deal with someone else, and we'd be high and dry, only one striker again. We take Anelka now, and look for a proper long term replacement in the summer.

Time is the problem here that's why I think it would be very good we got Anelka if Torres leaves.

Apparently he's nailed on to Real Madrid in the summer.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

FWIW, despite Marks excellent track record I won't believe it til I vomit at the same of him in a Chelsea shirt.

I think he can be made to see sense & delay any move till the summer, I really do. Simply lock him in a room with carra, kenny, pepe & a shitload of beer. Oh & a sink with some handwash obv.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I like Llorente a lot. Would love to see him here, although I'm having problems trusting Spanish players right now.

But gut instinct, I think Kenny's gonna talk him round, he's gonna convince him to stay till the summer, they'll agree a deal in principal with Chelsea for the summer, but I think he'll see the rest of the season out here.

This.

I have to say though, that if he leaves it will be a heavy suckerpunch to the gut. And my love for football will die a little bit.
No player is bigger than the club, but it's heartbreaking.
