I'd be with you as well if Sturridge really was included in the deal.
Why ? What's he done ? He can't make the Chelsea first team so why does that make him good enough for us ?

But how does that benefit us ?

£50m split between lukaku and eden hazard would be fine and dandy, problem is whether we can attract young players like that after selling our biggest star.

i mean, i can see plenty of logic in cashing in on torres. it's just not knowing who the replacements are and how they'll do that's a bit nerve-racking.
We have surely got a list of real back up options incase the Suarez deal fell through, so I would presume getting one wouldn't be too hard in the next 3 days?

Anything close to 50 Million and it would set the squad up with 2-3 really good buys.

BUT Alonso, Macharano, Torres, I mean FFS that can't happen can it?

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'd rather Sturridge was left out of the deal. Fuck him.

Young promising striker. Don't take it too seriously I'm just pissed off like everyone else.
If Torres was happy and content, I'd tell Chelsea to shove it they came with £100M and Sturridge.

Let's just revitalize the ancient attacking line of our direct competitors, and be happy that we can use their cast offs for a season. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Anelka is finished. I don't want any old, short term solutions that inflate our wage bill while offering nothing, and are impossible to sell.
This.

We'd be fools to take Anelka on.

Besides im sure his brother/agent said he was convinced Anelka was off the MLS after this season?
Because I believe keeping him would trigger something of a bidding war for him in the summer and may end up with us not strengthening our major rivals since he may decide on a move abroad in the meantime. Therefore, keeping him, even if he doesn't play, is no worse an option than selling him now because he won't be in the team either way.

like i say, it's worrying. but i think there's every chance we could come out of it a better team if we invest wisely.

i think the worst thing's the timing of it. summer, fine, but i don't get his desperation to go now.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

The only thing I'm clinging on at the moment is that Torres told the club this before he knew about us signing Suarez. The Chelsea bid was reported this morning, and Suarez was signed this afternoon.

Hopefully FSG showed enough with that signing that Torres will consider staying.

Clutching at straws I know.

That's what I originally thought. Not so sure now. Nor am I sure there's any point if he's burnt his LFC bridges. What type of performances will we get out of him if this is the case? I'm still hoping these rumours are bullshit

I didn't say all of them I said mainly. And you just proved my point the majority in both cases are not from Liverpool.
