Thiago is bloody imperious. Love watching him play, utter class.
True dat, plus he was active in getting the crowd going. If (IF) his fitness can hold up, he's going to be absolutely crucial to our season.

True but, the rate he's going, the chance to do so may not come to him equally often in the future. Given the money he'll be on he might not care about that but, if he DOES care about how often he plays and about doing himself justice, IMO the jury's out on how much longer he'll be there.
A Spurs fan I know from the gym has an interesting take on it. He reckons it's less a case of Son having fallen short of previous standards, more a case of Richarlison tearing it up when he got the chance and making it very hard for Conte to drop him and bring Son back in.
Yet Son is 10 times the player Richarlison is. It's daft, but form and all that jazz.
Same similarity there with Salah in terms of chances created and goals scored. Fatigue/lack of rest too?

He's got this season to impress and that's it. They shipped out Sterling on the presumption he'd be able to step up. If he doesn't, the replacement will be in next summer. Even if Grealish isn't immediately sold, his days will be numbered if he's not tearing it up by spring.

But who would buy him? £100m. Even if City take a huge loss (and continue to pay a large part of his salary) he's still going to be £50-60m. I doubt City care though.

Yeah, that's the problem with clubs like City and Chelsea. They can afford to buy 100M players that don't work out, dump them on the bench or send them out on loan.

I get the sense with Diaz that most of his best work comes from the sequences where he decides to go it alone and try to make something himself. He still doesn't seem integrated into our patterns of play.
