And I wonder whether that will be the accepted excuse in the media for what is so far a lamentable result for the "greatest and bestest side in the world"?
I'll bet it will be "poor old Fergie, half his first team was missing". Compare that to the hatchet jobs on Benitez when he has the likes of Gerrard, Johnson, Aquilani, Riera and Aurelio injured and Torres protecting an injury.
Just shows that any team misses influential first teamers when a large number go missing
