Imagine thinking that a different option might have won the game for us. Imagine looking at the bigger picture and thinking how we can turn draws like yesterday into a win, as opposed to say, calling it a good result and being satisfied with dropping points while our two biggest threats both win.
Imagine being wise after the event !

I think you've missed the point just as Froggy did. It was him who chose to exaggerate this point by saying there's an assumption we would have 100% scored if Sturridge had played, before taking a lazy pop at the fact he hasn't scored in the Premiership, despite him barely figuring at all.

I don't assume he'd be the difference, but I think having an another option and using it for more than 10 minutes in a game we were clearly struggling to break the deadlock in, might have been the difference. It might not, but at least we could have tried it for longer than we did, ditto Origi and his pointless 4 minute cameo.

You hit the nail on the head anyway, sometimes he would, sometimes he wouldn't, it's about harnessing that and using it to our advantage. Chucking him on begrudgingly for the last 10 minutes in games is pointless. Having a rethink during the game and adjusting your perspective and making the opposition have to readjust is a good way of giving yourself a chance. Sure, it might not work but at least it's giving ourselves a chance to. I love the way we play but like any tactic, it's not always going to work, you have to have something else in the locker.
I certainly didn't miss the point at all .. and in fact I've laboured to make it clear that I favoured bringing Sturridge on after 60 mins at the latest (I believe I said this at HT - maybe not on this forum, can't be sure, and can't be arsed to check, it might even be in the pre-game thread). But not because he is first and foremost a striker, but because he was certainly fresher than those that had traveled long distances and played 2-3 games within a short timeframe.

It also wasn't a lazy pop - Brendan said he (alluding to Sturridge) would have scored from Firmino's chance, that's the point I took issue with and highlighted it by saying he's already missed chances this season so why on earth would he be nailed on to score that one.

How long before Pardew gets the sack?

Pardew is certainly right up there in the list of managers that I fucking despise.

Perhaps not quite sharing the rarified air of genuine, all-time cunts like Baconface and Mourinho, but one level below. He's always been well-known for his preening arrogance, love of himself - and other players' wives - with an astonishingly high opinion of his abilities that don't bear any scrutiny.

His FA Cup Final dance is perhaps the greatest visual summary of him as a person and manager: a bizarre, self-congratulatory, smug, peacocking display, followed by almost inevitable failure and defeat. Cunt.

He is also my favourite example of the classic debate "Managers Don't Make Any Difference" with his cyclical "boom/ bust" results a beautiful example of how little genuine effect most managers actually have on results, especially ones like Pardew. There isn't a scintilla of genuine humility in him. He's a humourless braggart.

He's been under growing fan pressure and ire for a few weeks now, with his decision to get rid of Jedinak viewed as another example of his "Big I Am" zero-tolernace approach to anyone with a personality or influence. And his close relationship with Parrish ("bum boys" I think I read somewhere) viewed as the only reason he's still in charge.

Fucking Pardew.

Heh, I love those stories. I often find the best way to run multi-million pound enterprises is to base all decisions on a single game.

To be fair I think its more down to this then just the game vs Swansea...
Thats unbelievably shite..

They rested Verthongen for Sunday's game against Chelsea according to Pochettino.

That's a crucial game in their bid to make next year's Champions league.
It's all fucking money these days.

Spurs were horrendous. Really poor. Eric Dier in particular was caught out of position countless of times. The good news is that they will most likely end up in the Europa league.

They'll cost a shitload but either Bakayoko or Fabinho would be fantastic signings for us.

Lloris will probably leave this summer. Could end up at City I guess. Still feel Real will go for De Gea, although Courtouis has said he could move back to Spain aswell.

He made 3 or 4 world class saves including a penalty.
Levy won't let him go cheap.
It baffles me that Madrid,Barca and City have shit keepers whilst this lad is at Spurs.

Indeed. Real have been after De Gea, understandably, but he's surely one of the most sought after keepers in the world right now

I like his loyalty to Spurs, but even so, I'm sure he'll be one of this summer's big targets

I'd be very happy to see him go to a club abroad

Moise Kean coming on for Juve tonight made me feel reaaaaally old. Born in Feb 2000.... 16 years old.
First player born in 2000 to play in any of the 4 big leagues when he was subbed on vs Pescara this weekend aswell.

Fucking hell.

How many pens is that for Spurs now this season?

Good to see another abject display ends in a defeat. they usually play that badly, rely on Lloris to keep them in the game and then win a diving late penalty or dive to get an opponent sent off.

Cunts.

Montreal up 2-0 at home so far in first leg of their semi final against Toronto. TFC look shellshocked and vulnerable at the back.

61000 fans and they sound loud.

Cracker of a game this. Montreal went up 3-0 and looked to have the tie put to bed. But TFC with an attacking sub and they've pulled back 2 away goals through Altidore and Bradley. Can hear the away fans in full voice now. Totally different atmosphere.

Always thought Lloris was underrated; he was rarely included in the conversations about the league's best keeper, with De Gea and Courtois hogging all the attention. His style may be less flashy, but he is consistent and consistently good.

He's absolutely brilliant to be fair, top 3 in world for me.

Pochettino inherited their two best players in Lloris and Kane (though didn't play the latter for a good while, preferring a non-scoring Soldado) and has failed, for me, to add enough quality around them (bar Ali).

For all the media hype around Pochettino, his team has won nothing and seems to have a habit of coming up well short or losing their heads when the pressure is on. He's also fashioned possibly the most snidey team currently in the Premier league. a right bunch of diving, fouling, whining cynical cunts.

I really hope they get third in their group and fall into the Europa League, impacting on a subsequently mediocre league campaign.

Lloris was a right liability when he first joined the league, he was always a superb shot stopper, but his rushing out would have made bravo blush, he seems to have cut those mistakes out now with time and experience, and he's indeed a top top goalkeeper. When they fail to make the top 4 this season, City would be made not to throw the bank at him, he's perfect for them.

As for Potch, someone's said this before, but it rings true, whilst the likes of Klopp, Pep, Mourinho, Conte and Wenger are all creators of their own styles, tactical innovators if you will, Potch has always seemed an imitator to me, a very good one, but an imitator none the less. His teams to me always seemed like they were trying to mimics the tactics of Klopp and Pep, the hard work, athleticism, and the frenetic pressing, but lacking the cutting edge and swagger that those two teams had, sure they've turned it on at times, but that was always done to personal brilliance from the players more than tactical brilliance in my books. He's also a massive snide classless cunt, but hey ho.
