I'm not sure why you think Ozil's a cunt. His stance there is perfectly reasonable, isn't it?
I disagree with any player actively running their contract down so they will leave and get a big payday at the next club. How did we all feel when Macca did it?
He'll be back tomorrow and saying nice things about us, and then you'll all look a bit silly.
Who'll look silly?

So he's played the cunt all Summer and it'll all be ok tomorrow when he churns out "I was staying all along because I love the club"?

It takes fuck all to release a statement. He's been a petulant cunt all last season and it continued into the Summer. Whether he was with the Spanish team at the WC is irrelevant. Even if he does stay it doesn't negate the fact that he'd had his head turned and did nothing to reassure the fans when it was clear that there was mass speculation.

Yeah, point made Fernando, you're pissed off with the owners and the club, thanks for putting the fans through the mill in the process.

The way how I see these things work Mark, and I understand your frustrations, is that the media publish a bullshit article about a player and the player can do two things.

He can deny that article outright and while stopping the rumour gathering wings he has generated another news story with his denial thus filling the newspapers.
This seems all well and good until another bullshit article is published a couple of days later by a different newspaper. So he is in the position again where he must deny the story or else it will gain even more credibility because he denied the first one.
So perhaps after a long series of bullshit made up stories, and an equally long series of denials, thereby keeping the rags ticking over with a sense of legitimacy to the bullshit they write, he just decides to say nothing bar the occasionally revealing interview and hope that the fans can see through the bullshit.

Now I accept that Torres may well have been tempted if the right offer had come along. But I don't believe that there is much truth in 99% of the transfer speculation written about him this summer and I don't think that he should be obliged to respond to every single one of them, or any of them for that matter.

Balotellis move to City is about to colapse, he apperantly isn't very set on leaving Italy.
He and Rafa will get on like a house on fire.
They will. Balotelli will be the house on fire!

Cheers Count - you save me a few minutes there.

It's upsetting with Torres because he seemed so antithetical to the typical modern-day footballer with his previous statements and interviews etc. But the fact remains, Mark, that he's just kept silent up to now. His only 'public statement' of the entire summer was being photographed wearing a Liverpool scarf. I think I can probably forgive him for that really...
Soz, it makes me angry, the modern day footballer. Tsk.
You are not wrong Mark. Don't apologise.

I have become very cynical and sick of it all too.

Footballers and their hubris, the bullshit writing journalists that have made them that way, and the authorities and the weasely agents, with only money on their minds.

Apperantly Redknapp has told him he can leave.
Strange. Is he going to rely on Defoe, Keane and Pavlyuchenko?
He appears to be after another striker what with links to Bellamy and Raul. It is strange though.
Bellamy, Defoe and Keane. That must the shortest strikeforce in the Premier League.

I'll recommend Saviola to Harry aswell. Then he'll have 4 midgets as strikers.

For the 7 mill £ quoted asking price, I'd take Crouch tbh.

Crouch is decent enough but I would take Bellars ahead of him for his pure pace and he is more versatile!

Yep, though for a combined £10m-£12m I'd take both.

Well, Crouch would help with the English quota thing, I suppose. Does Bellamy count for that?
Not sure, would have thought so, he's British and he's been here for years.. Not sure how it works though tbh.

Yup, I think Bellamy counts. He would have probably spent his younger days (16-21) at English or Welsh club.

Bunny, Bellamy is Welsh so that helps the quota. Fancy flogging Dirk and getting in both Bellars and Crouch?

Signing Crouch, Bellamy & Aurelio would be bizarre.
Yeah, let's get Cissé, Riise and Sinama-Pongolle while we're at it!

How come nobody is spending money in the Premiership? And will they?

Man Shitty are chucking it about like loonies, as usual, but other than those cunts, it seems rather quiet.

And not just in the Premiership; other than Villa to Barca, and Real making their usual couple of signings for *another* new manager, there isn't much going on is there?

Makes me a little less grumpy at how laughably skint we are, although I have a feeling that Chelsea are about to pick up a couple of big signings: Ramires and possibly Ruiz?

Is it all going to kick off madly as soon as one big player moves on? (Please not Torres)

Most clubs are fucked when it comes to the UEFA financial fair play rules that are coming into effect in 2012.

Will these laws definitely come in?

And does that mean only being able to spend a percentage of your turnover on wages?

ARe you really that impressed by Ramires? I haven't been that wowed by him at all ...

He has done well when I have seen him play for club and country but 20million does seem a bit extreme. He is a solid player I suppose.

Bunny don't be cynical! As things stand, Crouch and Bellamy would improve our squad depth significantly. In Torres' absence Crouch could lead the line. Bellamy offers us back up on the wings as well as striker. His pace is a key feature that can be used effectively. Tell me that they are players you wouldn't have wanted in our squad in what was a disastrous last season?

We could potentially pick them up on the cheap. That we are as skint makes them more than an attractive and viable option. if we had bundles of cash then obviously we'd be aiming for better calibre players.

I think we should put on the breaks in signing players until we see whether we're minted or not.

David Villa was interviewed in todays Marca, and said that he had never spoken to a British journo or newspaper about Torres or his future.

I guess thats what you get for beliving a story in the Daily Star.
