I´m starting to like it. Our season is a disaster but it feels good that we are shipping out the shit! Dossena, Voronin and perhaps Degen out is a good start. It almost doens´t matter if we bring in more quality (than Maxi) considering how this season has developed. Baby steps and all that.

The signs are promising at least.

Whether it will be enough for Benitez is another thing entirely.

In fairness, getting rid of shit players who don't play won't make our team any better. It's satisfying that they're no longer associated with the club, but let's face it, they should never have been here in the first place. I suppose Maxi is a decent acquisition though, if indeed it's confirmed.

For all the talk, this is all a bit premature isn't it? We haven't actually signed or sold anyone.. or have we?

Dossena has signed for Napoli, 4 mill £.

Voronin to follow shortly 2 mill £

Good to hear Dossena has gone. 4m.. at a loss, but well, that's the best we could have hoped for really.

Voronin 2m. Great. Again, considering his wages, probably at a loss.. but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Look, if we could get £2m for each of Voronin & Degen... I'd say Rafa was a miracle worker in the transfer market.

Bought - Dossena, Voronin, Degen combined fee £7m
Sold - Dossena, Voronin?, Degen? combined fee £8m

*RUNS*

Woohoo. That's our net spend down again!

It's incredibly embarrassing we have to pay shit players millions of pounds just to sign for us.

From The Echo:

The Reds, meanwhile, are finally hoping to wrap up Maxi Rodriguez’s move from Atletico Madrid now that Andrea Dossena has completed his £4.4m switch to Napoli.

Dossena arrived in Naples yesterday to undergo a medical and met his new team-mates before putting pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half year contract.

Andriy Voronin was also expected to finalise his move to Dinamo Moscow last night but, as yet, the Reds have not heard any official word from the Russian capital to say that particular £2m deal has gone through.

Rodriguez has been waiting patiently to come to Merseyside and is understood to have told his Atletico team-mates that he simply could not reject Liverpool’s advances as he said his goodbyes in Spain yesterday.

Once all those deals are concluded, though, that is likely to be the end of Liverpool’s interest in the January transfer window.

While they are still trying to lure Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh to the club on a Bosman and believe they have a favourite‘s chance of winning that particular race against Arsenal, he would be a signing for next season.

As for Ryan Babel, he will not be sold to Birmingham, firstly because the £9m they initially offered was nowhere near Liverpool’s valuation of the player and, secondly, as any money they might recoup would not be reinvested in the squad.

What’s more, Babel’s form may be erratic but he still has the ability to produce special moments in games and Benitez is happy to keep him in the squad, in the hope he will have an influence at some point during the second half of the campaign.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, uhhh uhhhhh uhhhhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaahaha ha ah.

That 2nd to last paragraph is brilliant.

I've missed that classic Beni from Anfields humour.
