.. and you know what? I can see it happening...

"Lets be honest and look ahead to what WILL happen in the summer.
- We are going to finish 6th/7th so probably (assuming Chelsea win the Cup) be in the Europa Cup next season.
- Papers will run stories up to the World Cup as follows: Torres wants out, Gerrard wants out, Rafa will be sacked, RBS want £100m
- Our "Fans" will concentrate on the Manager angle and G&H WILL sack him.
- The same supporters will be on Sky etc saying "Mourinho for me" etc
- Rafa will get paid off
- Nobody will buy the club as its in turmoil, G&H WILL NOT SELL as they think they can make more cash, and they sell Torres for £85m all of which goes to RBS.
- Gerrard goes to Inter for £35m
- We then have a pot of £20m to rebuild
- Mourinho stays at Inter and we get Dalglish in "for now" as no other Manager worth his salt would take the job - except Warnock.
- We start the season badly as Captain Lucas gets injured and we have only kids as back-up
- Our fans start moaning about us not getting Mourinho and "Why didn't we get David Villa instead of letting him go to City?"
- Dalglish (who was never popular with the press as he sneered at them for years), starts getting stick in the press
- Sky report on Liverpool's £8m flops Kevin Nolan and Kevin Davies
- Our fans start moaning too "he wasted £20m in the summer you know"
- The saddest ever day at Liverpool FC arrives when the fans moan and turn on Dalglish....G&H oblige and sack him.
- Sky are outside Anfield and fans say "Mourinho for me"
- We appoint Phil Thomson
Repeat to fade
I think everybody needs to take a step back and look at the question somebody asked earlier in the thread. Assume Rafa gets sacked one day after the season ends. What then? Seriously, what do you honestly see happening? If its Mourinho, a rebuild and push for No.19 next season you are living in cloud cuckoo-land.
You see, if they sack Benitez, they are seriously not planning on going anywhere themselves. Its step one to oblivion....see that Leeds United, thats us that is.
Our only hope is some super-rich nut job loses his marbles and buys in at an inflated price - the owners WILL NOT SELL FOR ANYTHING ELSE.
City, Arsenal, United, Chelsea all have mega-rich owners or income streams that we don't have and will never ever have under this regime. Spurs, Villa, Everton can all outspend us this summer....yes, Everton too. We have only spent our Champions League income of recent seasons. That won't be there next season pluswe have to find £100m and interest for the banks.
You lot keep moaning about substitutes, poor away form, playing for the shirt etc. I'm going to mourn the death of my football club this summer.
Protests in August will be too late. "
