It's made for a better competition in some ways, but could lead to some more dull games later.
I wonder. France have been a carcrash waiting to happen all along, while Italy are as poor as they've been for quite a while - I actually tipped them to be the first big team to go out and I reckon that's a moral victory, 'coz France were always in disarray. None of those other teams have fluked it IMO.
If only Lippi hadn't been such a Juve loyalist and had some more balls (taken Balotelli & Cassano), Italy could have easily qualified from the group. Hopefully, this will bring good.
Portugal? Can't recall the group off the top of my head, something like ivory coast needing to hammer NK and hope portugal get bummed.

If Brazil win by 1, Ivory Coast will need to win by at least 9.
Should hopefully be plenty goals tonight.
Also possible that Spain may go out tonight. If they don't beat Chile and the Swiss beat Honduras, which is likely, we'd be left with only 4 'big' teams in the last 16.

You know what... that could well happen. Chile are a good side and I think it's far from a foregone conclusion that Spain will win.
I'd be very disappointed if they go out though. The tournament needs them in it.

Agreed. The Swiss aren't nailed on to beat Honduras either IMO, so I reckon Spain will make it one way or another, but it'll be interesting to see whether they win the group or not.
