Monsiuer Dante

Thanks for the wiki link - I vote for you to represent Suarez at his appeal hearing.

The closest meaning in English of the alleged insult from Evra Iam reliably informed is P***

Looking at the lawyer Suarez had the first time, even Rosco would have been a better option. Fucking hell photos of black children? Fuck me

That was the president of his Football Association wasn't it?
was it? i thought it was his lawyer, last name balici or something.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

All the Lawyer had to do was show a photograph of his Black Grandfather

Seeing as footage of the incident in the goalmouth has become sky's own zapruder film, I've now seen it a 1000 times and I'm wondering if Kuyt heard and actually understood what Evra said. Kuyt comes charging in to have a go at Evra and even though Evra has his back to the camera he looks genuinely rattled.

Based on that I think Evra was looking to get Suarez sent off by abusing him in Spanish - out of earshot of those around them - in the hope that he would get so wound up that he would eventually raise his hands to him. Except, as we all know, it didn't work out that way.
It's true, Deadly looks very angry in that clip (which is unusual for him) and Evra certainly backs off.

I have zero confidence in the FA's procedures but hopefully these things will get a full airing in court eventually.

Hahahaha I did tell you that you were being charitable in your opinion of the FA appeal panel. You've changed your tune now
I didn't dispute the risk that Luis might be found guilty based on the way the charges were framed, but I will admit I thought the panel would lay more emphasis on what Luis actually intended before coming to a decision. I_rushie has since explained that intent isn't taken into account because of the way the rules themselves are worded. I think part of any of eventual legal challenge will need to be an attack on those rules themselves as being unfit for purpose.

Yes. Now you are starting to see why I hate my boss/university and the way they fired my Spanish friend. She wasn't as gullible as Suarez and pointed out the fact the regulations were prejudicial, breached natural justice, hadn't been broken in any case, procedural impropriety, straight up irrefutable lies, everything. And it did nothing. The only way to fight is by taking revenge in your own counter claim. You don't use your superior intelligence to show them the error of their ways. You instead use it to fucking obliterate them and take every single penny they have. Why? Because thats how you roll. Fuck justice.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I don't know why they don't settle these disputes on a public panel.

Sit Evra and Suarez down, with an audience, and let them talk about how the misunderstanding arose. They can then apologise to each other, and most likely be deterred from doing it again, because they won't want to feel the shame of having to explain themselves like that.

If they keep ending up there, then we know they have a problem.

No, it makes much more sense to make a grandiose political statement for FIFA's benefit and to crank up the tension between 2 teams who already despise one another.

That's what I thought - get 'em a pint and talk. I think it's b/c of the hatred between the clubs that this couldn't have been sorted out the 'better' way.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I bet they would shake hands and chalk it up to competitive over-exuberance.

Yeah Evra opening statement "I don't think luis Suarez is a Racist" suggests he was having 2nd thoughts ...

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I sincerely hope the club is looking into the possibility of submitting a formal complaint against Evra on the basis of his remarks to Suarez which are now a matter of record. That should be a pretty open and shut case

Also I think the T-shirt stunt was hopelessly misguided and will do Suarez more harm than good in the long term. It should have been an anti racism shirt or something of that nature. They will soon replace the cream FA cups suits as the most embarrassing article of the clothing associated with this club, the backlash against this is going to be fucking huge.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

As a statement of support and solidarity with Suarez, the tee shirts were great. The players statement of support was good because they categorically state that they are against racism.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I think the Tshirts were a huge PR own goal and I expect to see some serious gestures made by the club in terms of affirming their anti racism stance in light of this

As I said lodge a formal complaint against Evra and see what the FA do

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I totally disagree regarding the T-shirts. I don't think they'll make a blind bit of difference on the PR front, but frankly I don't care either way. If we want to keep Luis at the club it's absolutely vital that we publicly stand beside him now, whatever the short-term cost. The FA panel's judgment opens with a clear statement that he isn't a racist, so there's zero justification for leaving him to face this alone.

The difficulty with lodging a complaint against that cnut Evra is that Luis has already said he didn't hear the offending word(s). That would be very hard to explain away now.

https://www.facebook.com/LiverpoolFC?v=app_57675755167 is a video of Suarez in S Africa now in FB being shown by the Club.

Public complaints against Evra may not have any effect unless Suarez make a report either to the police or the FA.

He's admitted it though. Why are they not just charging him?

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

Hasnt Evra admitted it in his statement to the FA, surely Suarez would not be required to hear it first hand in order for it to be deemed an offence or are the FA of the opinion that something is only racist if there is a black person around to hear it?

The issue with the Tshirts is not that the club is showing solidarity with Suarez, they have backed him unequivically from the start so that is not an issue, the issue is that they seem to be trying to portray Luis as the victim despite the fact hes been found guilty of using racial insults against another professional, that will not wash with most people and it makes the club look laughably out of step with society, as if being banned from a couple of games of football is a sentence worthy of martyrdom

Im amazed FSG are allowing this to happen, for a club trying to expand its global base this is PR suicide

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

It wouldn't suit the FA to pursue Evra. His insult wasn't a racist one and they're too preoccupied with covering themselves in anti-racist glory. They also don't want to antagonise Ginsoak.

On the T-shirts, I don't give a flying f'ck whether it will or won't wash with whoever else. We're in dispute with the panel's findings so it's absolutely vital that we stand up for that and for the player. My bet is FSG have calculated that, for a variety of reasons, giving in now would be far more damaging in the long run. If so, I think they're 100% right.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

He called him a 'sudaca' apparaently, thats a european spanish term for latin americans, and yes it is extremely derrogatory and also racially motivated, he doesnt have a leg to stand on if this was raised as an official complaint

Well... the club ought to make a fuss about this.

Sudaca might not be racist, but it's xenophobic

But RedStar - no one heard this (like the Suarez's supposed abusing Evra on 10 separate occasions). The only person who said it happened is Evra. Can we really trust him? 😉

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

I agree that by rights there ought to be a complaint, but who's going to make one? We'd find it difficult because Luis has already said he didn't hear it, and nobody else is going to want to bother because they're going to have to deal with Ferguson if they do.

I think he can only complain about something if he had been a witness to it and can make a statement in support thereof. Suarez can only really claim he was offended during the hearing when he saw the statement. Since the FA's rules apply to football matches, there's nothing you can do. I suspect Evra knew this, and that is why he was advised to admit to it..... so it looks better than if Kuyt or Suarez made the allegation.

Re: The Suarez/Evra Racism Row (continued)

of course the cunts at man utd never considered that Suarez wouldn't have mentioned it anyway. So they must have felt stupid and kicked themselves for admitting it. Trying to be too clever for their own good. Cunts. Next time they should leave being clever to dantes and stick to what they know, being cunts.
