What was he initially charged with?

and squiggles, judging by Liverpool's statement, it seems like he said something worse than that.
Maybe he did, but Evra (and Man United) were not stupid enough to admit to anything. We were.
The LFC statement says Evra admitted it in his testimony.

"We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent after he admitted himself in his evidence to insulting Luis Suarez in Spanish in the most objectionable of terms."
Is the QC in the panel a a Qualified C***? Queer Chap? Quite Cosy?
Careful Y1, the FA will be charging you next.
They will ban me from watching football on TV?
Aye, 8 match ban!

FA have gone well overboard 8 games if they admit there was no racist intent, just ignorance on Suarez part...I expected a 4 to 6 match ban. Stupid old men in their stuffed suits dragging it out over as many free lunches as they can. Maybe they needed to be seen to do something.

This whole debarcle has led me to one conclusion. I hate whites.

Yep, colours of the world unite! Emm... whites are welcome to join and it is considered as one of the colours in our spectrum.

This is political correctness gone mad!

Darn it! Just unbelievable that such good statement can come from him... *feels dirty*

Jesus normally on here its me or someone else down the food chain taking a battering.

Very unusual to see so many established posters going at each other.

It looks very obvious to me.

Suarez admitted to using a term that the FA have deemed is not acceptable and are making a very large statement to all players and world football (Blatter especially) that they will not tolerate.

8 games is somewhat harsh but it will prob be reduced to 5. I don't really see a problem with it as long as they hand out the same ban for similar offences in the future.

I will however be majorly pissed off if he gets a ban for giving the finger when others in the past have got off scot free.

Pat, half the issue is that in Evra's own statement there is an admittance of calling Suarez a 'South America'. If, as suggested, this is not a racist issue but the fact that Suarez referred to Evra's nationality/colour, then Evra too should be prosecuted, by his own admittance. Rosco has banged on about Suarez' statement a few weeks back admitting as much, fair do's, that's the damning evidence right there (though it's not 'racist', so the Mirror can fuck off, again), Evra has admitted to ultimately the same crime.

The findings from the John Terry case will be very interesting, it certainly looks a clearer case that doesn't look favourably on Terry. Therefore could he expect a similar or even stronger punishment from the FA? Knowing the FA, he'll probably get away with it.

There's nothing I hate more than the threat over players leaving hanging over us. Any prat who wants to hold us ransom like that can get lost.

This is why I started hating Torres and what put me off Reina, frankly anyone who doesn't want to play for LFC and doesn't get what it means, can leave. I don't really care.

Like Alonso ?

He surely knows that in England it's safer not to admit you've said anything which might be used against you. I'd be surprised if he admits he said anything abusive to Ferdinand - only sweet words (being a local he probably knows how to abuse an opponent yet keeping clear from any FA punishment). So eventually it will probably either be his word vs/ Ferdinand (although if I remember the incident correctly there were players around them who surely heard what was said).
Anyway, the FA has put itself in a delicate situation having punished Suarez so harshly. The entire world of football will now monitor carefully the Terry case and see if the English FA treats the England captain with similar standards to those applied to a Uruguayan.

LOL. That's a totally different case...

I want to know what Evra said to Suarez. I want the FA to charge him if its abuse. John Terry will end up not getting charged by the police and thus the FA will not have grounds to charge him. You watch ?

Yeah I was just thinking about this. Where does all this leave 'brave' John Terry? If The FA have now set an example in Suarez - Surely the same would apply to him. I know it is different circumstances though. I might put a tenner on him getting off scot free....
FYI - Evra's statement is evidence. That alone is not enough evidence to prove anything. The QC involved knows this, so I'm willing to bet there's more to it than we're letting on.
We'll have to see what happens with the clubs course of action going forwards. Assume away though

I guess our best route to go down now is the FA and Evra's own admittance that they don't think Suarez is racist and Evra's own questionable insults towards Suarez.

That back page. Bloody hell.

The club should ban the mirror from the club press confs until they print an apologyn

Why is it Terry's a police case while Suarez's is not or have I missed something?

"fuck off negrito"

"oooh leave me alone you big South American you"

Do you think that's how the conversation went?

I would say it's because there isn't enough evidence to convict Suarez in a court of law. The Department of Public Prosecutions don't like wasting legal fees prosecuting people whom they think will be acquitted.

In Terry's case there is video evidence of what he said to Anton Ferdinand.

I trust the English FA to find a solution for the Terry issue. They're smart.
The english fa would probably appeal on terry's behalf.

The CPS will fail to prosecute JT and this will give the FA a pretext to dismiss its own charges.

Ah there are 2 sets of law? If FA do not sufficient evidence the FA will be the law unto themselves? How incredible is that? With the police case against Terry, the FA may defend Terry or appeal in case he is convicted? This is so incredible that I am beyond being upset now!

Meanwhile...
The Independent Regulatory Commission will provide written reasons for its decision in due course setting out: (a) the findings of fact made by it; (b) the reasons for its decision finding the charge proved; and (c) the reasons for the penalty.

Yes the FA inquiry is a "kangaroo court" assembled at the bidding of Sir Alex Ferguson.

So you are confirming my prejudice old chap? That must be a tongue-in-cheek-stiff-upper-lip-dead-pan-face- pulling my leg kind of English humour, only the English are capable of eh...

with a twinkle in the eye?
