The Suarez/Evra Racism Row

I reckon Suarez will move now in the summer.
You and Ross can form a tag team and see how many people you can piss off in one night. Tonight's a good night to hit 100 I say.
Thats a bit of a shit post.
What has Gene said there to deserve that?

There's nothing I hate more than the threat over players leaving hanging over us. Any prat who wants to hold us ransom like that can get lost.

This is why I started hating Torres and what put me off Reina, frankly anyone who doesn't want to play for LFC and doesn't get what it means, can leave. I don't really care.

LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable - without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act.

See this is the confusing part ...are they saying they believe he didn't say anything at all which could be considered a racist insult or that potential he said something like 'negrito' but didn't mean it in a racist way . We really need more info to come out .

It is key to note that Patrice Evra himself in his written statement in this case said 'I don't think that Luis Suarez is racist'. The FA in their opening remarks accepted that Luis Suarez was not racist.

See this goes back to what i said earlier , surely he wasn't being charged with being a full blown racist , rather if in one situation he used a racist insult . But i guess it's about building character reference .

Sorry Jules, I think he'll have a sour taste in his mouth now and his career in England can never be the same. My Spanish friends think this whole thing is bizarre, I reckon a few Spanish clubs will be reaching out to Suarez now on that same basis. Sadly, the club for all its defense of Suarez will also be thinking of the reputation and marketing impact of this whole thing unless he's cleared and vindicated.

Logic tells me he's going to be playing for someone else next year.
Logic tells me the verdict won't stand up.
I agree, however I don't think logic applies to the FA, otherwise we wouldn't have had this verdict in the first place.

What a mess.

The man does talk too much when he's on the pitch, maybe he'll learn a lesson too think before he speaks.
I hope Bellers stops talking so much, and Carra, and all our noisy players. Sheesh, Ferguson has succeeded in turning most English fans against this man (bar Neil fucking Warnock!), and far too many of our own fans too it seems.

I understand the reasoning but I think the man will want to tough it out, and I think Kenny will too. If I'm right about that, your forecast would mean FSG forcing a sale against the player's and the manager's wishes. I don't think they'd take that step.

I also think Suarez WILL be vindicated if we go to law over this in the event of an appeal failing, which I think is vital.

Gerrard wanted to leave lfc as well.

Also I don't think it's be a case of Suarez wanting to leave lfc, more he may want to go to a more familiar culture or surroundings etc

When has Suarez made such a threat? Did Evra say so??

But thankfully Gene the FA is not the final arbiter.

Ok Andy. Cheers.

It doesnt suit you.

Youve now had a dig at Rosco, Piedro, Anita and Gene for simply voicing concerns.
Wind your neck in ffs.

What other way is there to take a post?

Nah don't see it panning out that way even if this is upheld . It will be forgotten before the summer by most , especially if he bangs the goals in (The football world view scoring goals after an offence as showing how you've turned the corner and changed your ways ) .

And i don't think the club will worry about marketing , they've already shown they believe him not to be guilty so will continue to push that , they've gone past the point of worrying he might be guilty and any effects that might have , i doubt they'll do a full swing now .

Are people feeling okay on here tonight, seriously?

If you don't believe there's a conspiracy against LFC and you don't believe Suarez is an innocent victim who's never put a foot wrong, who's been framed by evil Ferguson and Evra, you're somehow a lesser fan?

Okaay than

Not surprised he got found guilty really but the length of the ban is a bit excessive.

If it was just Suarez vs Evra then it surely would have been thrown out, but he admitted he said something didn't he? He didn't say what he said in that interview but I assume he must have told the FA.

See, that's exactly the kind of snidey, exaggerated needling which provoked Wizzy in the first place.

I agree, I don't think the club would sell him against his wishes, I just think neither the club nor player will think it's a bad idea and when that happens and a bid comes in, it's usually bye bye.

On the legal issue, I thought football associations, UEFA, FIFA etc. took a poor view of clubs and players going to civil courts to contest decisions on disciplinary matters. Isn't that what's happening with the Swiss kerfuffle right now?

Sorry, I admit don't know enough about our right to pursue this (see my previous post).
