If the club thought Suarez was guilty they'd have handled this completely differently. I doubt he'd even have got as far as a personal hearing - they'd have told him to suck it up and learn his lesson. The fact that they haven't is highly significant, not least because of what you yourself say at the end there.

I don't really agree with this victimisation stuff either, but I think in this case they were set on banning Suarez, and there's no way they would have handed out the same ban to an English player.

We just seem to be shafted by the authorities over and over again, and this 'oh well, move on' attitude doesn't seem to work. The 'top' clubs seem to have some sway with the authorities, and we clearly haven't.
Who is the only team in England (I believe) who has been fined for tapping up a player? Why didn't scum get charged after the Jaap Stam comments?
Who were the only team targeted by the 'respect' campaign after Mascherano complained to the ref? It happened over and over to other teams before and after.
Why were we charged for not controlling our players when, the same weekend, more Newcastle players surrounded the ref for not sending off David Luiz? I'm not sure, I'm sure a certain team have never been charged for this demeanor...I certainly can't find any examples.

This is silly, obviously no one is happy about it. We're all LFC fans and this is gonna effect our season massively. But point is if he said 'negro' as the claim is, then he deserves the ban, he needs to know it's not acceptable, let's just hope the FA are consistent with this moving forward; I look forward to seeing what Terry's punishment will be.
For what it's worth, I don't think Suarez is innately racist, I think he used a term that he know was unacceptable because he used it in a confrontation to wind Evra up. I think he was silly and a bit ignorant as to what the social context is in this country.
This of course is assuming he said it, there is a possibility that he didn't say anything and Evra is making the whole thing up, which of course we'd all love to be the case.
