Fair enough. I do think in regards to fabinho the Saudis have done us a favour. Klopp has a bad habit of holding players for too long. Now he's forced to replace him. Hendo is a bigger blow as our leader.
I agree, any club getting a decent wedge in for players who are past their prime is seen as a positive (if you leave all the morals + principles at the door). Klopp will have his own principles, footballing principles, and perhaps he just isn't too keen on change or as it would be seen now....big change.

As far as leaders go, they come and go....the responsibility will be passed onto Ali, Virg, Trent or whoever and there's no reason to doubt why they can't step up to the mark.

I wonder how much Tesco charges billionaires for one of those meal deal things?

I pay £3.50 but then I can only afford £100.

Florentina have just signed the legendary Arthur Melo it seems (according to Romano)…

Poor the Oxlade. After being ignored by everyone including Saudis who are throwing their money at everyone available and half decent, now even Arthur gets signed before him. He might as well retire

Exactly. In retrospect, simply letting Keita and Ox go 1-2 seasons earlier and investing 15-20M in the likes of Doucoure/Caicedo while they still under the radar would have solved nearly all our problems.
But therein lies the issue. Why would we have bought those two ‘under the radar’? Nobody had any idea they’d turn out to be that good.

Sure we scouted them but we scout hundreds.

Could Youssef Fofana be an alternative? Plays as a 6 for Monaco. Is in the National squad for France and 24 years old. 1 year left on hus contract (option for one more year).

Sign someone and fast. It’s hard bedding a new player in but worse without preseason…

Reasonable fee touted, as he's being liked to west ham.
I have no opinion on him as I've never heard of.him

We should sign Palinha and one of Lavia and Doucoure. Or something like that anyway.

Maybe £110m for both. Just get it done. We've had a financial bonanza by saving at least 20m on Macca and shifting Fabinho and Hendo's hugely burdensome contracts for about £52m above market value. Now isn't the time to be worrying about getting absolutely maximum value.

Have you seen the absurd values on those players heads?

We're not going to overspend where we don't need to and we've proven we don't need 70m signings all over the field to compete and win things.

The club thrives off finding value....& fundamentally this is the core value Klopp sides with and largely what our success has be down to. An 85m midfield trio and a 100m forward line, a £7m left back, a RB from the academy mixed with some heavy hitters.

Last thing you want is a player you've invested heavily on, only to turn out to be a flop....or a crock & you're stuck with them until the end of time.....i.e Naby.

Yep - totally agree with you, with midfielders- I think we have to watch ourselves a lot more, even Darwin has yet to prove that his price tag has been worth it. Based on what @StevieM posted the other day, I looked up Sangare and he has some very good reports while at PSV and the stats make up for it. I would go get him and Thuram, they like two press-resistant giants in our midfield. Think we can do that deal for under 55M

If we're spending 80M+, we're likely better off trying to go big and get someone like Caceido or someone Real Madrid are willing to get go.

yeh for that price Caceido all day long but seems like he’s Chelsea bound. He’d hit the ground running and knows Gary and how he plays already.

Nope.

Sometimes it's like fans haven't a clue of anything that goes on with the club, or follow anything that's happened or they're just that naive they think the club will do what they want, when they want.

So after 12 years adhering to the project and model that was set from the get go, all a sudden now we're going to go off on a tangent and act like Chelsea or Utd throwing hundreds of millions around desperately at the next player we're linked with because people can't stay relaxed for a week or 2 having panic attacks.

There is another option and one that I think is becoming increasingly likely.

Our transfer dealings are done and we’ll make do with what we have.

You know all that talk about how we should sign young players when they’re under the radar?

Well - we’re going to utilise all our young, under the radar players.

All you dreams are coming true.

I think Caicedo is within reach, but Klopp has decided he's a merc so he's off the table

Caicedo is a pipe dream signing let's zone back into realism here.

& in any case he is a bit because he pounces around in a Chelsea shirt, wagging his dick for Utd and then says he'd love to join Arsenal all in the space of about a month......then he ends up signing a new deal at Brighton, the kids deluded.

And he'll be doing the same for Real or Barca if we sign him
