Why the fuck has no one else jumped on the idiocy of that Slaven Bilic becomes our manager? Overlooking the fact that he's a ex-blue, what about the fact that he's.....well shite!

You need to think outside the box Spion

I'm not biting Ross.... 😉

Seriously.

What had Shankly done before he came to us ?

Midtable in the 2nd division.

It's not about what they've done, it's about what they could do for us. If we're replacing Rafa we need to get someone different in to reinvigorate the squad. Someone who can communicate with and motivate the squad.

Who knows .... Bilic could be the man.

Instead of biting your lip John, try opening your mind.

There's lots and lots of managers out there who could come in and do a good job with what's already there.

what's there is a bunch fuckers who over the last five years made a career out of hoofing the ball to crouch or else kicking it to xabi alonso. now these fucks don't have that luxury anymore, they no longer serve any useful purpose. its fucking embarrassing they have less tactical intelligence than a fucking group of random strangers on clapham common.

so no, there are no managers out there who could do shit. i feel sorry for benitez because he at least seems to care about things which is more than 80% of our squad. but this is his mess. i don't want him sacked. i want him to clean this shit up, to fix it. to put the club back to the way it was before this bullshit happened. and then he can resign and fuck off somewhere taking lucas and voronin with him.

True, however thats always the risk with appointing relatively untested managers, they could be proper gash

Oh and can we change the thread title? Whenever i see it it just reminds me of glock. No one calls him Rafael. Even his scorned lovers wouldn't call him Rafael.

They could well be gash.

I'm fairly confident that Purslow and Kenny would be able to pick out the right person to recommend to the Yanks.

I've never said there are no other managers out there. But to have Slaven Bilic and Steve Nicol mooted on here of late is frankly bordering on the hysterical. Its laughable.

Its also amusing to see people lining up to find a way of denigrating anything Benitez has done right in order to try and prove he's shite / not good enough to manage Liverpool.

I can happily accept that some people don't like Benitez' methods (like yourself). But frankly all these "he's always been shite" and "he's only good enough for the second tier of Spanish football" or "it was Houllier who won the European Cup not Benitez" or "he's a fat fuck" diatribes are prety much the desperate machinations of idiots who think they know better and are determined to prove that they are right, no matter what.

I can count on one hand the anti Rafa posters opinions I respect and even, sometimes agree with. You are one of them. But the hystericals are as ever dragging the site and the club through the mire to suit their own petty agendas. Its pathetic.

I am getting bored and tired of it.

As is always true, the best managers are taken. Yes we could try and go for untested but i'd be more comfortable with a more renowned manager.

That or Fergies son to wind him up

Spot on there John.

for me the bottom line is rafa has shown himself capable of winning a big domestic prize, a big european prize and also shown himself capable of challenging for the league. he has also shown himself capable of buying qaulity defenders, midfieders and striker (singular rather than plural ha ha). that's why despite the horrendous current form I will give him the benefit of the doubt

If we win sunday you'll all back off for a while tho wont you! Gerrard, Torres, Aquilani, Johnson (only recent..i know!), Agger, Aurelio....all either injured, just back from injury or not quite match fit yet!!

I dont care who says Rafa has had five years to build a better squad, well he built THIS squad in his five years and its a good squad but those six are all starters and any team in Europe would struggle with 6 of their best out or not on form (even wengers pups)..along with Cara not having the best of starts to a season, you cant really ask for Rafas head.

Although it will ultimately probably have an effect on us challenging for major honours this season...its just a series of unfortunate events that you cant really plan for 2 months into the new season. The only thing I blame Rafa for is the failure to do anything about the zonal marking at set pieces..which is obviously a problem..but I definitely dont want him out for it....just try something new maybe!!

Lets look to Sunday...C'mon you Reds!!!!!
Like i said, win, lose or draw would not make any difference. 4th place if we're lucky this season and we're talking about this in October makes me very fucking angry.

Whilst I don't agree totally with Glock on here he does raise some points worth considering and is able to back them up.

I still don't agree that we should be getting rid of Benitez now as I can't see how that will help matters in the short term. He will turn things around to a degree definately and I think he deserves the chance to do so. The question is what exactly does he have to achieve this season to keep his job in the summer?
Top 4 finish. Nothing else.

You'd have to say even a domestic cup wouldn't appease most, if we fall short of second and a reasonable challenge.

The Champions League might do it, but you'd have to say in our current state that going all the way in the CL could be too much for this squad and would have a knock on effect on our league status.
I think you're probably right.

However if we win the FA Cup say and also finish top 4 then I would be surprised if he got the sack. The pressure would still be on for next season though
Fa Cup and 4th place finish would not save him from the job if the Yanks sell their shares to the Arabs. Arabs would attract other manager and replace Rafael. Dont' also forget Citeh would invest and improve their squad this January window and would definitely try to finish in 4th or 3rd place.

Just throwing names around so that kids here can have options.

Nicol is Liverpool through and through. And he's done a very very good job at New England. He hasn't delivered the title but i think he's a decent option.

Gary Mc and Dan Petrescu - Haven't got the experience but look at Pep Guardiola.

Vicente Del Bosque will leave the Spanish job if they win the World Cup.

Dick Advocaat - Zenit and throughout his career and withBelgium. He was managing someone elses team in the qualfiers, and his team that lost to Estonia didn't have Defour or Witsel did it? Isn't one injured and the other suspended?

Christoph Daum is a great manager and very very good tactically. He's got baggage but he's one of the best around.

Mourinho - What else can we say. He wants to come here.

Capello - Will change his mind once we sack Rafael.

Liverpool dream of Mourinho

Thursday 22 October, 2009

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are not just considering sacking Rafa Benitez, they are lining up Inter boss Jose Mourinho as his replacement.

Benitez is under serious pressure after his Liverpool side lost 2-1 at home to French side Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Reds have now tasted defeat in each of their last four games and a similar result against Manchester United on Sunday could spell the end for Benitez.

La Gazzetta understands that should Liverpool be beaten at the weekend then Benitez will be sacked and replaced in the short term by Kenny Dalglish.

The Liverpool legend will remain in control until January when a bid for Mourinho will be launched during the Serie A winter break.

However, Mourinho won’t come cheap, as he signed a new contract in the summer, which made him the highest earning Coach in world football.

If he were to arrive at Anfield there would be more than a touch of irony to it, as Mourinho and Benitez were arch rivals during the Special One’s time at Chelsea.

The two often met in the Champions League where Benitez often had the upper hand as most famously demonstrated in Luis Garcia’s phantom goal in 2005.

Thanks for those options Glock.

Gary MacAllister who failed at Leeds and Coventry as a manager.
Dick Advocaat who was sacked at Rangers.
And Dan Petrescu.

Yeah you also fail to mention he won the treble at Rangers. He won the Scottish league twice. No he was not sacked at Rangers. You know fuck all. You're Rafael man. So i assume you should also know that Rafael was sacked when he managed Valladolid and Osasuna.

WE aren't talking about that. You are. While I doubt we'll win the title this year (which is how I felt before the season started), I don't think we'll limp into fourth either.

For a brief period of time I entertained thoughts of having a manager other than Rafa in the dugout. Then I saw the names and suggestions people were putting forth and now I think I'd keep Rafa if we finish in midtable. Christ on a bike...

Don't be fooled by the names. The only manager who has experience winning the league in England is Mourinho and he'd love to be here. We can have others just like we had Rafael before.

You'd keep Rafael if we finish mid-table? Oh dear! How about CL next season? Do you fucking realize that CL offers a lot of money? Do you think without enough money Rafael will keep quite? He will certainly give the same excuses again and again for not having enough money to sign players.

Sammy and King to take charge until the end of the season so that we can settle the ownership and financially until then. Simple.

First off, The Special One has hardly been mentioned in all this discussion. The discussion has focused on managers some of whom I wouldn't wish on Everton.

Second, as soon as I get the postage figured out, a sarcasm detector is in the mail for you, Glock. Clearly midtable is unacceptable. So is Dan Petrescu as manager.

Third, O'Doyle rules.

Beat me to it LTW! Yeah Rangers, the team that gets ritually humiliated in Europe annually. Thats the 'strength' of the SPL.

Ledley or Rodney King?

Did Glock suggest replacing Benitez with McAllister? I have seen some moronic suggestions on this forum (usually from Glock) but if that's not a wind up then he knows even less about football than I thought (I thought he knew nothing).

Gary Mac, who got the boot from Championship club Coventry and 1st Division Leeds for being a shite manager, to replace one of Europe's best managers.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
