The race

I wish to announce that I am in the winning brigade now - I think after watching the game today - 2 more wins is ALL WE HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK.

We've been extending our lead for ages - it's just some pussies on here didn't notice !

Last 6 we've W5 D0 L1 vs Arsenals' W2 D4 L0 so we've gained 5 points over 6 games !
Actually I do notice it and yes it makes me happy - but it does not excuse the fact that in the back of my mind we are more than capable of fucking it right up. We won't now of course - two wins mentally is easy to do even for a team like ours who are suffering from something (apparently its not fatigue according to Slot).

Really? Got to say I don't. I much prefer us to play the good football we're absolutely capable of at our best, but the result will always be priority 1 for me.

Yeah, I'm also not sure why finishing stronger would make us hungrier, more likely to make us complacent. Couldn't give a shit, as long as we win the league and don't get any injuries that impact next season.

Haven't actually seen us win the league with fans in the stadium.. are they bringing the trophy to Leicester next sun?

And who actually fucked it up? Was it us or was it Arteta's spineless trollops? I'd suggest drawing 4 games out of 6 to the likes of United, Everton, Brentford and losing at home to West Ham ... it wasn't us !

I think the guard of honour thing is massive cringe, but I will make an exception for lego head

I'm hoping he's already got them practicing. Got the speakers out blaring you'll never walk alone. Let Win the dog be the one receiving the guard of honour on the training pitch

He's definitely going to do some rousing speech about how this motivates them and to USE this to empower them. Maybe he'll shove a lightbulb up his arse.

All is forgiven if Slot during the celebrations in the city walks out on stage in front of the fans with "I'm too sexy for my shirt" playing in the background"...

...and he has to do this pose too:

Normally I'm 100% with you. But given that it almost doesn't matter at this point what the result is, I'd like to see an indication that we're still hungry and ready to put teams to the sword.

I get that, and lasting success isn't often (if ever) achieved by over-conservative football, but "care more about the performance than the result" is going a bit too far for me, especially at the moment when we're out of kilter as a team and having to dig deep in pretty much every game.

Countdown to #20 - brought to you by Kelly's Dirty Slots.

Points to go: 6
Games to go: 6

Honestly speaking if this was a T20 we were chasing
6 runs from 6 balls, I'd be pretty confident of the win.

As its football and we only get 3 points for a win and we're playing Leicester next who are coming into form (draw one after 5 losses on the bounce)
Then Spurs ( managed by one of the greatest young managers atm)
I'm nervous.

Fair enough. I'm not sure I'm expressing myself right.

Basically I'm saying that I realize we're continuing to put points on the board but we've largely looked like shit for weeks. I want something different to that. The points are important but I mostly want us to be less shit.

If we were in a tight race, I couldn't care less. The points would be all that matters.

It's probably already won, not sure Arse will get to our current total. It would be nice to get a mid-80s or higher points total.

With the hard work done in the first half of the season and us now cantering with shrugged shoulders over the finish line, it does somewhat feel a bit of a anti-climax. If it was the other way around, we'd be ecstatic. But, it's the League, and we're going to win it; easily.

There are lessons to be learned from 2025 so far, players and tactics. So maybe that's no bad thing. And at the end of the day, #20 is coming home, we're back on our perch.

We played breath taking scintillatingly beautiful football and finished second with 97 points in 18/19.

I'll take the points from sub par performances, top of the form table when it matters for the run in and big ol' PL trophy any day, any week and any year in all honesty.
