The race

Couldn’t care less about Arsenal beating Real. If they advance to the semi finals it’s good for us in the league as they will drop more points.

I do think we're definitely going to win the title and anyone thinking otherwise is being a bit ridiculous, but Arsenal are clearly a good side and they were massively affected by those injuries. We simply haven't played like a title-winning team since about December. We've been quite lucky really, but then we've been so unlucky so many other seasons, so it's all good.

Quite lucky but also somehow the top team in the form tables. Last 6, 10 games.
Weird to say we are lucky in all honesty.

I meant lucky in that City have fallen off a cliff and Arsenal had their entire attack destroyed by injuries. Everything's fallen into place for us this season, but again, that kind of fortune has been a LONG time coming. We were ridiculously unlucky not to have won at least one other title under Klopp, for example.

Level with palace, wolves and villa. 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. Of course that's just in the league. If it's all comps we've won 3 lost 3. And played poorly in all of them bar maybe psg at home (where we lost).

Lucky to be top of the league? Arguably no. Lucky to be 11 points clear? Fuck yes.

I wouldn’t say so because this is a “normal” league season. The whole Klopp vs Guardiola stuff was abnormal. 90 points being a target is bonkers.

There's every chance the league would be like that this year if arsenal didn't lose their main creator and had at least 1 striker. If city didn't lose rodri their derailment might be less severe (though a drop was coming).

This might be a more normal league season, but it's still been heaped heavily in our favour

Ultimately I don't care how we win it, I just want it won. What I don't like it immediately presuming that next year we're going to be right back up there. That kind of attitude creeps in to the players minds and then levels drop. We haven't even won the league yet and some players are on the beach.

That mentality from both players and fans is toxic entitlement. You work for every fucking second you're on the pitch. That's the way we've always played and that's the way we should maintain.
This is now about standards.

I don't think losing on penalties counts as a loss?

You can only beat what's in front of you. Stop moaning, we're top of the fucking league because we're the best team in it. If it was so easy to win it this year, then someone else would have done. They didn't because they're shite, and we're boss.

I want to like this post twice or even three times if possible.

I agree completely. But we're starting to struggle to beat what's in front of us

Why?

How did it get to pens?

Oh yeah, we lost 1-0 in the 90 minutes

Does that count as a loss? Or does the following 30 minutes and penalties invalidate the 90 minutes?

Fuck cares. Its all added to the big bowl of winning the league is a bit shit and the season is poor. If we win the league then some one here should read back all the shit they've posted before drinking a bevy and celebrating.

Zero point in discussing things. God forbid you call a team playing shite, shite. God forbid you call players not good enough, not good enough.

Everything's fucking rosy and we're going to dominate for a decade

I wouldn't even argue with him if the game finished 1-1 after drawing the first game. I can get that as that's what bookies go by

But we actually just lost the game ,in the 90, in the 120, after pens. That game we lost. Zero point denying it

Arsenal had already W13 D4 and L4 by the time they lost Saka (vs Palace). His injury isn't the reason they are finishing 2nd this season.

Yeah I had a brain fart there. For some reason I just remembered it as a draw !

Zero point discussing things. We're shit, our manager is shit, we're winning the league cause everyone else is shit, we're not signing anyone, we'll be worse next season, we dont deserve to be champions, everyone is suffering from fatigue, why cant we win every game and be 100 % perfect nothing else is good enough, we'll lose our next game, we'll throw away the title, our manager doesn't know what he's doing.

It isn't I agree, but it's a pretty sizeable factor. Add in losing both their strikers in Jan (who might be shite, but both have scored more than ours). Like, if we lost mo when they lost saka, would we be confident we'd maintain a gap?

Our team, like any other, has flaws. I've been consistently vocal over who my main gripes are over. I just want some cunt to pick up the baton while Mo's had a dip. The closest we've had is Macca, and even he's inconsistent.

I know we're not expecting a large amount of players to leave this summer, but to be brutally honest, there's a good few who would be lucky to stay if I had my way.

I think Arsenal would definitely have at least 4 more points if they hadn't lost so many forwards, but more than that they'd have put us under genuine pressure and we might well have dropped more points as well.

If the gap was 6 points, and you look at their fixtures, and a chance to win at Anfield, then you can see just how important those injuries might have been. I'm not saying they won us the title, but I think they're a major part of why we never even really had a race.

Impossible to say though I'd probably say that our form has been near impeccable until recently so probably we'd be ahead but it'd be much closer.

But they did. 70 goals is way more than any other team in the PL and we have averaged 2.2. goals per match over the past 10 games. Dropping points may have more to do with the lack of rotation (so slow starts and lack of energy) than quality of the players or scoring goals - and that's on Slot because I don't think the likes of Elliott, Endo etc. would have let us down.

I'm not expecting that at all. And yes there are a few I'd love to wave goodbye to but probably won't.

You could argue that if there was more pressure, we'd have turned up better in the last few weeks, it's easier to take the foot off when the challenge hasn't really materialised. Hard to really be sure.
But that's a mentality issue I hate. These are professionals. You can dial it back when it's done.
