The race

How about we get through the two cup games first. Let's worry about the league in two weeks.
Kind of like the break of cup before league.
I remember, during Klopp's time, used to Enjoy the CL action away from the robotic chase with City every week and figuring it who's playing firts etc.

What is the story with the fixture list?
If Liverpool make it to the league cup final they are scheduled to have only one Premier league game in March.
😕😕😕😕😕😕

Well, we only have two as is.
International week that month.

We will be champions by the first game and will forfeit all other games in the quest for the Quad after that.

Don't forget, two CL games as well and...

FA cup:
Fifth Round Proper - Saturday 1 March 2025
Quarter Final - Saturday 29 March 2025
He’s if you aren’t in Europe and go out of the cups in round 3 or 4 March will be a very slow month.

Go out to win them both, but I won't lose sleep if we lose these matches. Sure, we lose momentum and it could knock confidence, but at the same time I can only see us losing a certain number of our remaining matches this season.
If we get two losses "out of the way" in the cups, that's alright by me.

Last year, and in 2022, Klopp tried to compete in all four trophies, and it cost us in the two that matter

We're at the same junction, and same points level as this time last year.

Will Arne fall into the same trap - overplaying players.

Yeah not ideal, but in a way it could help us as we have a full squad and are more proficient at playing multiple games a week compared to the likes of Villa & Newcastle who are strong when playing one game a week but are struggling when doing multiple.

I do suspect it could mean terrible for things for the quality of content on here

No - he’s been managing the minutes of players all season and he’ll continue to do it.

He's not really managed the minutes of Gravy, Macca and Mo until the past 2-3 weeks. Which is ok, but time will tell whether they burn out later on.

He’s got a very fixed idea of his best team which means as Brizzle said - rest has been a new thing for our spine. Include Virge in there too

Feb will tell us

It's very different this year, last year after 24 games, we were second and had three teams within three points on similar goal difference.

I think he is based on their fitness levels.

Gravy’s role probably requires the least running of the midfielders and Mo is a machine.

Macca has appeared in more games than Gravy, but logged less minutes.

Basically Virgil, Mo & Gravy are rarely substituted, everyone else is to a certain extent.

I think it’s clear that Slot trusts his performance team to keep the players at peak performance, who responds to getting a break and who responds to substitutions (on and off).

I think Slot would shuffle the pack more if he thought he had to.

I’m more concerned about what happens when the players are away on International duty.

Yes - I think the rotation on cup games has been refreshing. For me we should be going full tilt at the PL and everything else is a bonus where it can fit. The Plymouth game might be enough to give everyone the rest they need, and some minutes managed on Thursday where needed.

I also fear that Everton could be putting in a lot of big tackles trying to make a point in their final home Derby at Goodison.

I think competing for 4 trophies has got to be a significant risk to the PL. Right now injuries look like the main thing that could derail the challenge.

Anyway, I was bored last night so I had a thorough look through our and Arsenal's fixtures. I reckon we've got 1 or 2 more games where you'd honestly expect us to drop points, so the fixtures are in their favour but not enough to turn around 9 points. In all likelihood they'll need to win at Anfield to have a realistic chance.

That's why this is a very important month league wise.
If we beat Everton our nine point lead goes from theory to reality.
I think it would be nice if we could extend our gap even more this month. Might allow Slot to rotate more.
