The race

You only went and picked on the lad who lives in the hardest part of the planet among us 🤣

It’s nothing compared to the eternal darkness and stifling heat of my wardrobe!!!

Reposting this here (without the post I quoted) as a FYI :

Arsenal win 14 games straight?

Their home record so far this season is the best in the PL (ours 2nd best) but still only W8 D4 L0 whilst they have the 3rd best away record (we have the best) with W6 D4 L2 so does anything there suggest they can now win 14 straight?

Just for a measure of realism Arsenal's record run is 14 straight... In 2002! The only other time they've ever hit double figures was 10 in 1987.

If we go W8 D4 L3 then Arsenal need W10-4-0 and a better GD.

If we go W9 D3 L3 then Arsenal need W12-0-2 or W11 D3 L0 and a better GD

If we go W9 D4 L2 then Arsenal need W12-1-1 and a better GD.

If we go W9 D5 L1 then Arsenal need at least W12-2-0 and a better GD

For the record (with extra pressure from the CL and cups) I can see us going something like W10 D3 L2 (assuming a home loss to Arsenal - even though I don't see it ) which would mean Arsenal need W13 D0 L1 and a better GD.

The pressure on them is the ever decreasing number of games and they should at least make the CL ¼ finals with their draw

One place I've always wanted to go. But I think I remember some shit that it's further from Oslo then Oslo is from here so I never made the trip. It seemed kinda difficult

I've wanted to go since I was 14 and I fell madly in love with an 18 year old girl named Britta from Tromsø...

Looks lovely. So wild how relatively mild your climate is in comparison. Beautiful area from the few pics I just looked at.
It is very pretty here, and around, and also a fair share of interesting things to do for a city this size.
Coastal climate is down to the Gulf stream of course. Inland, the climate is more dry and cold/warm.
-30 C. now when I was in Karasjok. -40 is quite common there. They also have the record in Norway by -51,4 C.

Well, perhaps so. But now, due to the tourist boom (northern lights, whale watching, reindeer) there are tons of direct flights from all over Europe.
Direct flights from London, Manc and even Bristol now during the tourist season. If you come, I can show you around.
No need for Oslo anymore.

True, there are some pretty women here, and Northern Norway are known for one-night stands, with Tromsø being the capital of such...

I was out herding reindeer with a Saami friend the whole of last week, two hours away from any road, by snowmobile.

Took some great photos, but this site and photos is a pain in the arse.

Would you say it is easier or harder than herding cats?

Back to 'the race'

Can't complain with putting an extra 3 points up on the board against one of the most in-form sides in the league (who beat Arsenal in the same fixture).

We showed a level of ruthlessness and desire against Bournemouth that hasn't always come through in other games. Slot is really working on the mindset as well as the tactics. Even MOTD called out just how much fight all of our 4 midfielders are showing, and that is what can win us this season. Three starting midfielders dominating, and then Jones on as first replacement and also proves a difference maker.

Arsenal don't play in the league again until 15th Feb and have 10 days after Newcastle. They could come back refreshed and sharp, or they could come back having lost any of the momentum they've been building up.

If we beat Spurs - we will end up giving Arsenal a game in hand by the 22nd Feb weekend - as we will have midweeks against Everton & Villa in the mix. If we are still racking up 3 points by then, it would be great to see the scoreboard pressure flip in the other direction with Arsenal having a game in hand and further behind.

That would be

Weds 12th - Everton (A)
Sun 16th - Wolves (H)
Weds 19th - Villa (A)
Sun 23rd - City (A)
Weds 26th - Newcastle (H)

Absolutely massive 5 PL games in 2 weeks. Lucky we can (and likely will) send the same squad that did PSV down to Plymouth and go into this short burst of games with a bit of a rest. We have almost everyone fit, Jota should be back too, and Gomez.

City play Madrid the midweek we play Villa, which helps on matching fatigue.

Luckily only one of these games is against a team who **hasn't** had the same number of days to prepare, and that is Wolves.

If Arsenal over turn Newcastle, won’t they have the same issue with moving a league game to midweek just like us. Then have to deal with us beating them at Wembley too.

Yep, I hope they do beat Newcastle.

I’d take losing a league cup final to them to win the league.

Tomas took this personally. Not going to let some dilettante be king in the north.

The casual... "I was out herding reindeer."

Fuck me, that is devastating. There is no coming back from that I'm afraid Darkstar... My advice is just accept this. Don't let your pride fuck with you. We don't need pictures of you in McMurdo station.

We already think you are hardcore, ok. It's just. I mean, his name is Tomas. There are some battles you can't win.

Winning the cup would likely give them an added boost.

Want we want is a morale and soul crushing defeat to Newcastle followed by us bending Spurs over.

Then we keep going in the league - we must be relentless.

Now you have gone and ruined it. I was hoping for a proper king in the north photo duel here.

How about we get through the two cup games first. Let's worry about the league in two weeks.
