Liverpool to recall goalkeeper Danny Ward from Aberdeen early

By Jonathan SutherlandBBC Scotland
Liverpool are to end goalkeeper Danny Ward's loan spell with Aberdeen early.
Ward had become a fans favourite at Pittodrie after a string of impressive performances which has helped them to second in the Scottish Premiership.
The 22-year-old's final appearance for Aberdeen was in a 1-0 loss to Hearts in the Scottish Cup on Saturday.
He was due to be at Pittodrie until the summer and has been an ever present in the first team, keeping 11 clean sheets in 29 appearances.
However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to take him back to Anfield.
Capped at youth level for Wales, Ward has been an unused substitute for the senior side in recent months and is hopeful of being in the squad for Euro 2016.

Got a message on Facebook this morning (it had already gathered a number of likes as well) from an Aberdeen-supporting mate. Among other things it said that Ward is a star in the making, that he should be in our first team now and - most encouragingly - that he's shown himself to be "a strong, mature keeper and will be sadly missed at Pittodrie".

So much for being a regular starter, Sergi Canos was relegated to the bench last night. He came on after about an hour with the Bees trailing 1-0. Middlesbrough are defensively strong and adept at killing off games when they have a lead but, in truth, Canos was disappointing and made little impression. The next game is on Friday at home to Burnley, which is live on Sky.

Canos had a nightmare last night, in fairness, in company with everyone else in a Brentford shirt. He was put out of his misery by being subbed off at half-time. The Bees were in turmoil before the game when centre-back James Tarkowski refused to play against a team who've made a bid for him and the whole team seemed affected by events off the park. Canos couldn't get into the game and couldn't cope with the forward runs of his opposing full-back. Hopefully, he'll learn from this and be better in the next game, away at Preston.

Liverpool FC teenager Allan Rodrigues de Souza joins Sint-Truidense on loan
18-year-old midfielder spent first half of campaign with Finnish side SJK
Liverpool have confirmed that young midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza has joined Belgian side Sint-Truidense on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old Brazilian joined the Reds from Internacional last summer, and spent the first part of the season on loan with Finnish outfit SJK, helping them to the league title.

He returned to Merseyside in October, and has since featured regularly for the Reds’ U21 team under Michael Beale.

The teenager, who turns 19 in March, revealed earlier this month that work visa complications meant he would be leaving the club on loan again, and Sint-Truidense, 10th in the Belgian Pro League, are the destination.

The plan is that Allan will return to Merseyside at the end of the season, and is expected to then battle for a place in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans.

Luis Alberto scores Deportivo's goal.
That's four goals and two assists this season

Lazar Markovic is only focussed on his Turkish loan spell, and not a potential permanent move away from our club in the summer, reports Goal.
Despite costing a massive £20m in 2014, Liverpool sent the young Serb on loan to Fenerbahce – where he’s really starting to find his feet.

“It’s in Liverpool’s hands,” Markovic began. “But I’m trying to give my all on the pitch as a player for Fenerbahce. Every day in training this is true for me. I came here to be champions. Season We will see what happens in the end all together.”

Injuries affected the 21-year-old at the start of the loan spell, but he’s now worked his way into the side and has racked up a few assists in recent weeks, bagging a goal versus Celtic in the League Cup for good measure before Christmas.
He’s been playing on the right wing for Fenerbahce, which was the position in which he made his name for Benfica.
Under Brendan Rodgers he didn’t get a fair crack of the whip in truth, but had left the club before new boss Jurgen Klopp got a chance to check him out.
Klopp will likely make running the rule over Markovic a summer priority, and it’s a shame the terms of his loan deal mean we cannot recall him this January.

Ryan Fulton goes on loan to Portsmouth.

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...verpool-fc-goalkeeper-fulton-secures-10775914

Liverpool goalkeeper Ryan Fulton has joined League Two promotion-chasers Portsmouth on loan.

The 19-year-old shot-stopper, who penned a new long-term deal with the Reds last month, is expected to spend the rest of the season with Paul Cook’s squad.

However, as it’s a youth loan Liverpool are able to recall him after a month if they require his services.

The return of goalkeeper Danny Ward from Aberdeen has led to Liverpool deciding the time is right for Fulton to go out and gain some senior experience.

Burnley-born Fulton has been with Liverpool since under-10 level. He has trained regularly at Melwood and was called up for last summer’s tour of the Far East and Australia.

Fulton has been an unused substitute on four occasions for the Reds so far this season and has yet to make his senior debut.

He kept a clean sheet for the U21s in their 1-0 Premier League Cup win over Leeds on Tuesday.

Ryan Fulton started in goal today for Portsmouth. They lost 1-0 away. He conceded a penalty, saved it (poor kick) and then saved the rebound (another poor kick but he recovered well to be in position to make that second save).

A fan recorded the saves:
--

Andre Wisdom did not play for Norwich for obvious reasons. We won a cracking game vs. the Canaries.

Sergi Canos came in as a late susbstitute the 78th minute for Brentford. Brentford won /3-1/ away at PNE.

Swindon with a draw /1-1/ away against Sheffield United. Vigouroux played 90 minutes, bur Williams is still not ready for a first team action.

Lloyd Jones is closing to a return for Blackpool. His team won a point/1-1/ away against Walsall
http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/s...argets-february-return-to-blackpool-1-7687056

Ryan Fulton had his debut game for Portsmouth. He saved a penalty/ excellent double save byt the way/, but still his team lost /0-1/ at home vs. Oxford.

Finally Balotelli played 23 minutes for Milan against Empoli. One point for his team/2-2/. Mario looked rather lazy and spent much of the game on the right wing

Fenerbahce and Lazar play today in a league game vs. Rizespor

Deportivo will host Valencia today. Luis Alberto is in a very good form lately and I suppose he will start this game.

Allan also made his debut for St. Truiden, but his team lost /1-2/ vs. Westerlo. He came on as a late substitute in the 81st minute.

Balotelli could spend second half of the season on loan at Premier League side

This one’s out of the blue, but emerges from Italy with AC Milan reportedly unhappy with Mario Balotelli’s attitude.
(No surprise there…)

Calciomercato – picked up here by the Birmingham Mail – claim the Italian striker could be sent back to parent club Liverpool, with a groin injury and poor recent performances meaning AC Milan are happy to cut his loan spell short.
In Serie A this term, he’s started just two matches, stuck very much behind Carlos Bacca in the pecking order.

The report suggests that West Brom could be interested in signing the controversial forward on loan until the summer if this proves to be the case, while West Ham are also credited with an interest.
The thought of Balotelli back at Melwood scares us quite frankly, and we’d much rather he’d stay out of the way in Italy.
He was a disruptive presence during his season at Liverpool and possesses none of the work-rate necessary to succeed under Jurgen Klopp.
It does however seem very unlikely that Tony Pulis would want a striker like Balotelli for similar reasons, and are therefore taking this story with a large pinch of salt.

Sergi Canos missed Brentford's home match against Leeds last night with a knee injury. He hopes to be fit for the next match, a week on Friday at Brighton, which is live on Sky. Whether he starts is another matter as his replacement, Sam Saunders scored the Bees goal and has played well in the last two matches.

No Andre Wisdom for Norwich. The Canaries were very poor, losing away from home against Villa /0-2/

Sergi Canos came in as 60 minute a susbstitute for Brentford. Brentford lost /0-3/ away vs. BHA.

Swindon with a draw /0-0/ away against Gills. Vigouroux played 90 minutes and a clean sheet. Williams is still not ready for a first team action.

Lloyd Jones is closing to a return for Blackpool. His team's game vs. Oldahma was postponed

Ryan Fulton played 90 minutes for Portsmouth. His team lost 0-1 at home vs. Leyton Orient.

Fenerbahce lost 2-4 away against Antalya. Lazar played 90 minutes for his team.

Luis Alberto is playing his best football lately. 5 goals and 4 assists till now for the Spaniard. He is definitely Depor's best palyer with Lucas. Goal and assist in last two 2 games. Cracking goal.

Ryan Fulton has had a lot to deal with in the five games he’s been a Pompey keeper.

I was delighted for him to experience his first win since arriving from Liverpool on loan against Bristol Rovers.

It was just a shame he had his first clean sheet taken away from him with that late goal.

That is something he would have been disappointed about but, what from I’ve seen of him, I’m sure it won’t be long before that arrives.

Fulton definitely has a lot of the attributes of a natural goalkeeper. He’s made saves which sometimes go more unnoticed than others.

Ryan hasn’t had what I would call a bad game since arriving, so he could count himself unfortunate not to have had more success.

He’s had to deal with the indignity of having a keeper score against him at Morecambe.

That came in the 92nd minute after he had just made a very good save, despite not being involved for a long period.

Then, unfortunately, all people want to talk about is the keeper scoring and not the save he made a couple of seconds beforehand.

If that had not gone in everyone would have been talking about Ryan earning us the three points.

It was similar with the penalty save against Oxford.

He makes a fine stop but we still ended up losing the game.

I think it’s a difficult job being a Pompey keeper this season.

With the way the team has been playing in large parts, there are long periods of inactivity.

That takes high levels of concentration to be ready for when you are called upon.

In my view, that’s harder than when you are busy all of the time.

That’s a hard side to the keeping game a lot of people probably wouldn’t realise.

There’s no disrespect to anyone who has gone before him, but Ryan has come in and looked confident and tidy.

Don’t forget young Alex Bass, either, who also looks like he will have a very bright future.

Bassy has been in and around the first team for the majority of the season now.

He is definitely a capable young keeper and has impressed a lot of people with his attitude and ability.

I think, this time next year, Bassy can definitely be a big part of things here.

For any keeper, that first clean sheet is a big milestone.

That will come for Ryan and hopefully that will come this Saturday at Yeovil.

That’s a game we can go into with confidence after last weekend, and we are all hoping that can be a pivotal moment in the season

As an aside, since when has it become the fashion to write whole footy reports in one-line paras.like that eyesore above?

Canos was excellent last night. He was up against a powerful left back who obviously subscribed to the view that the best method of dealing with tricky teenage Spanish wingers was to kick him up in the air a few times. Sergi wasn't phased by the rough stuff at all. As Brentford grew into the game he began to link effectively with Alan Judge and John Swift and might have got a goal in the first half. In the second half he really caused his marker some grief and got his goal and assist before coming off to a standing ovation. Very impressive but now he needs to maintain that form and not let it be a flash in the pan

Loanee Jones returns to Blackpool

Liverpool defender Lloyd Jones has reported back to first-team training with Blackpool today.
The Welshman, who sustained knee and ankle damage in September, has fully recovered from injury and will now resume his spell at Bloomfield Road.
“He’s come bouncing in with all his boots and everything and has a huge, big smile on his face,” manager Kevin Macdonald said. “He’s played a couple of games for Liverpool’s under-21s and he’s ready and raring to go.
“He thoroughly enjoyed himself here before he got injured and he’ll now be back with us until the end of the season.”

Canos wins Spain Under-19 cap

Sergi Canos won his second cap for Spain’s Under-19s as they beat Serbia 2-1 in their final friendly match ahead of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifiers.
Canos, on loan at Brentford, started the match on Wednesday evening which saw two of the last three winners of the Under-19 title go head to head.
JS79104919.jpg

Canos had a strange game on Saturday, when Brentford took on Charlton. He was missing in the first minute when his man put in a cross from which Charlton scored in just 19 seconds. Like the rest of the Brentford team he took a little while to get over that but then started to come into the game. A lovely touch and a sweet pass but Bees striker Djuricin one on one with the keeper. The chance wasn't taken but Brentford equalised from the resultant corner. Another good passage of play saw him through 3 challenges with determination only to follow up with a woefully overhit pass. In the second half he missed a presentable chance when firing wide from just inside the box. His substitution, moments after Brentford had conceded the second goal produced loud jeers from the home faithful. Brentford are now bottom of the Championship form table and could get dragged into a relegation struggle.
Much of Canos' best work comes when he drifts inside. Given that the Liverpool squad needs more width, Canos needs to be adding this to his game.

Balotelli scores, Alberto assists, clean sheets for Vigouroux & Fulton – Liverpool FC Loan Watch

Ben Twelves on 07.03.2016

We take a look at how the loaned members of Liverpool’s squad performed for their temporary clubs throughout the week, with a good spell of action for the majority.

Mario Balotelli marked his return to AC Milan’s starting lineup with a goal in their 5-0 Coppa Italia semi-final win over Allessandria in midweek.
Leading the Rossoneri front line, the Italy striker notched his team’s fifth of the night, breaking the offside trap and calmly slotting home to confirm Milan’s place in the final for the first time in 13 years.
Balotelli’s positive display saw him keep his shirt against Sassuolo on Sunday, but it turned into an afternoon to forget for the 25-year-old, hauled off for an ineffective display after just 55 minutes of the 2-0 defeat, wasting a chance to prove his worth to boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

After remaining on the bench in Deportivo La Coruna’s 4-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao in midweek,Luis Alberto returned on Saturday, marking his comeback with an assist in their 3-3 draw against Malaga.
Alberto set up his side’s second of the night, keeping composed when under pressure from two opposing players, before turning brilliantly and feeding the ball wide to Cartabia Fede, who drove inside on his left foot and slotted home to make it 2-2.

After helping his side to a derby victory against Partizan last time out, Marko Grujic ’s Red Star Belgrade took another step towards securing the Serbian Super League title with a 3-1 win over Jagodina.
The 19-year-old lined up in an attacking-midfield role, showing his versatility, from where he acted as a driving force as Red Star moved 29 points clear at the top of the table.
Back in the English leagues, Sergi Canos endured a week of mixed fortunes for club and country.

The Spaniard celebrated his second cap for Spain’s U19s in midweek with a memorable first international win at the age group with a 2-1 friendly victory over Serbia, but his return to the Championship wasn’t quite as enjoyable.
Canos’ Brentford lost 2-1 in a London derby to Charlton Athletic, but the youngster still showed his talent, creating a clear-cut chance with a brilliant turn and pass which went to waste in the first half, before missing a gilt-edged opportunity to score when one-on-one in the second period.
It was yet another positive week of action for Liverpool’s young loaned goalkeepers.
But first, there was a welcome return to matchday involvement forLloyd Jones at Blackpool, who the defender has re-joined after recovering from a serious ankle injury.

Though he didn’t feature in the Tangerine’s 3-0 loss to Millwall, it is fantastic to see the 20-year-old back involved and closing on a return to action after an undoubtedly frustrating and testing period out.
Lawrence Vigouroux helped Swindon to a fourth straight win on Tuesday, keeping a clean sheet in the Robins’ 2-0 victory over Doncaster – the Chilean’s only game time this week, with Saturday’s fixture against Oldham being postponed due to snow.
And in League Two, Scottish ‘keeper Ryan Fulton completed the week unbeaten between the sticks for Portsmouth, picking up his first clean sheet in the process.

The youngster helped Pompey to a point at Exeter, in a 1-1 draw, where he conceded a late equaliser in midweek, before then inspiring his side to a 2-0 win against Stevenage, making one fantastic stop in particular from a free-kick to keep his side ahead.
Oppositely, it was a flat week for Liverpool’s European loaned men.
Allan Rodrigues endured another disappointing outing, playing only the final 15 minutes of Sint Truident’s 3-0 defeat to Club Brugge on Saturday – naturally having little time or chance to make an impact with his side 2-0 down upon his entrance.
More positively however, the youngster was called up to Brazil’s U20s squad, for whom he will hope to make a better impression than he has in Belgium so far.

Taiwo Awoniyi continued his recent flurry of game time, making his third consecutive start for Frankfurt in midweek in their eventful 3-3 draw with Duisburg, of which the Nigerian played 82 minutes.
But after a quiet performance, the striker – who has been called up to Nigeria’s U23 squad for friendlies in preparation for the Olympics – dropped to the bench for Saturday’s clash with Union Berlin, entering into a thankless task for the last 23 minutes of the 4-0 loss.
And in Switzerland, Samed Yesil, was unable to rescue his side from exiting the Swiss Cup at the hands of Lugano on Wednesday in the 10 minutes he played, losing 2-1, before disappointingly remaining an unused substitute on Saturday in a heavy 5-2 defeat to Young Boys.
Meanwhile, there was no game time for academy graduate Will Marsh at Sheffield Wednesday, with the Owls’ U21 fixture against Barnsley postponed.
Liverpool’s Loaned Men This Week

  • Balotelli – AC Milan – Played 90 mins and scored vs. Allessandria & 55 mins vs. Sassuolo
  • Alberto – Deportivo – Played 90 mins and assisted vs. Malaga
  • Grujic – Red Star – Played 90 mins vs. Jagodina
  • Canos – Brentford – Played 45 mins vs. Serbia & 71 mins vs. Charlton
  • Vigouroux – Swindon – Played 90 mins and clean sheet vs. Doncaster
  • Jones – Blackpool – Unused sub vs. Millwall
  • Fulton – Portsmouth – Played 90 mins vs. Exeter & 90 mins and clean sheet vs. Stevenage
  • Allan – Sint Truident – Played 15 mins vs. Brugge
  • Awoniyi – Frankfurt – Played 23 mins vs. Union Berlin
  • Yesil – Luzern – Played 10 mins vs. Lugano & unused sub vs. Young Boys
  • Marsh – Sheffield Wednesday – N/A

Lazar Markovic
continues to be sidelined, missing Fenerbahce’s Turkish cup quarter-final victory this weekend, while Andre Wisdom remains out with a knee injury and Jordan Williamsmissed another week of action.

So are they going to sack Dean Smith now after his 9 games (W3 - D3 - L3)? After all, they gave Dijkhuizen 9 games (W2, D2, L5) and Carsley 10 games as a stand-in (W5, D2, L3). Funny how it's the stand-in manager who has gotten the best results so far.

Since last season, Brentford have let go; the right back, two of the three regular starters at centre-back, two of the regular starters in central midfield, their most creative wide player, another wide player who was mainly sub but scored some valuable goals and their centre forward. In addition they lost their most creative midfielder who went back to Spurs having been on loan last season. None of the players they have brought in to replace them have been as good and, in most cases have been significantly worse. In the January transfer window they lost 2 senior players who haven't been replaced and results have suffered. Any manager would struggle in those circumstances and the bullet(s) ought to be heading elsewhere. I'm actually pleasantly surprised that Brentford have done as well as they have. Judge has really stepped up to the plate this year and the goalkeeper has made some great saves. Canos has been one of the bright lights. He seems to have a really strong mentality.

Jones return, Fulton makes costly error, Awoniyi starts, Balotelli doesn’t – Liverpool FC Loan Watch

Ben Twelves on 14.03.2016

We round-up how Liverpool’s loan men fared for their temporary clubs throughout the last seven days, with a disappointing week of action for the loanees.

In a week of little productivity for the loaned members of Jurgen Klopp’ squad, there was a huge positive with the long awaited return to match action of young defender, Lloyd Jones.
Having suffered a nasty ankle injury at the beginning of October, Jones made his comeback to the Bloomfield Road pitch after six months out – starting and impressively playing the full 90 minutes for Blackpool in their League One loss to promotion chasing, Coventry.

It wouldn’t prove to be the perfect comeback as the Tangerines went down 1-0 to the Sky Blues, but the centre-back enjoyed a good afternoon at the heart of ‘Pool’s defence, which he will hope to build on for the rest of the campaign.
It was a mixed week of fortunes for Ryan Fulton in League Two.
The young ‘keeper helped Portsmouth to a midweek 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley, where he produced a solid display and was helpless to prevent Stanley’s consolation with some poor defending in front of him.
But Saturday proved an afternoon to forget for Fulton, with the Scottish ‘keeper at fault for the opening goal of Pompey’s 3-0 defeat to Newport.
Rising to claim a high ball in the box, he missed his catch completely in the six-yard box allowing Newport to head themselves into the lead, which they extended with ease as 10-man Pompey failed to recover from the first half set-back, making for a miserable day at Fratton Park.
In the Championship, Sergi Canos played 64 minutes of Brentford’s 3-0 west London derby loss to QPR on Saturday as the Bees poor form continues.
Embed from Getty Images

The attacking midfielder was one of the positives however, showing his class in flashes and almost handing his side the lead with a shot that flashed wide of the far post, but he was withdrawn early to the disappointment of sections of the Bees’ support as QPR took control and scored twice following his exit.
Back in League One, Lawrence Vigouroux conceded twice as Swindon drew 2-2 with Millwall to extend the Robins’ unbeaten run to six games.

The Reds’ loanee was helpless to prevent either goal, being beaten by two good finishes, but did his job in keeping his side in the contest, which provided the catalyst for a fight-back from two goals down to claim a draw.
It was a week of very little action and production for Liverpool’s loaned men plying their trade across the continent.
In Spain, Luis Alberto played the final 30 minutes of Deportivo La Coruna’s 3-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
Embed from Getty Images

Frustratingly starting on the bench, Alberto was introduced with Depor only 1-0 down as Victor Sanchez searched for a way back, but within a minute of coming on Atletico doubled their lead to kill the contest, leaving the creative midfielder little chance to make an impact.
Taiwo Awoniyi was the only other European based loanee to feature this week, with the Nigerian playing 66 minutes of Frankfurt’s 3-1 loss to Freiburg in Germany.
Embed from Getty Images

Leading the line for the Bundesliga2 outfit, Awoniyi caused problems with his size and strength, but couldn’t find the net before being withdrawn with the score level – a substitution that had a negative impact as the home side conceded twice in the final 10 minutes.
In Italy, Mario Balotelli was an unused substitute for AC Milan in their goalless Serie A draw against Chievo on Sunday afternoon, and in Serbia, there was no action for Marko Grujic this week, with Red Star Belgrade’s match against Novi Pazar being postponed.

Young Brazilian Allan Rodrigues was left out of Sint Truidense’s matchday squad for their draw with Lokoren, while Samed Yesilwas also missing from Luzern’s squad for their defeat against Lugano, with conflicting reports over whether the German striker was injured or dropped.

And finally, academy graduate Will Marsh was again nowhere to be seen, with the youngster not involved for Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s in their 2-0 loss to Yorkshire rivals, Leeds, on Monday night.
