The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Exactly. He should return and work his way back into fitness and the match day squad. I see no reason to abandon him, he provides a new focus and impact to change games when necessary.

How many games has he changed in the last 2 years? Look we might as well accept we got absolutely hosed on the deal cut our losses and move on, hes not very good at pretty much everything required to be a topclass forward, put the money towards improving the first team because Caroll doesnt do that

Not sell him to Newcastle at all or hold out for at least £20 Million.

And back in the real world......

Who the fuck is going to buy him for £20m? He wasn't worth that much when we bought him, and he's spent most of the time since either injured or on the bench.

My main concern is ridding my consciousness of Andy Carroll. The first phase is to get him out of the club, which selling him to Newcastle would achieve. The concern is around the second phase, which focuses on ensuring the names Carroll and Liverpool aren't put together too often by the footballing community. If he does well at Newcastle that may happen too often for my liking.

What a conundrum.

I guess, I can't see anyone paying over the odds though, we're the victims of our own naivety. We'd discussed fees somewhere between £17m-£20m in the Summer, and he's been injured since, so any club putting in for him is going to point to as much.

We should be all over this imo:

QPR have reportedly made a £6.5million bid for former Arsenal target Yann M'Vila.

And other rumors:

Coutinho from Inter Milan to Southampton according to Italian papers...€12 million
According to The Manchester Evening News, Tottenham have 'leapt to pole position' in the race to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
Looks like Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng is on his way to Fulham - Sky reckon the club have secured a work permit for the Dnipro man.

Sky Sources are back, this time reporting that West Ham are set to make a move for Blackburn's Martin Olsson, and hope to have that particular bad boy wrapped up pretty sharpish.

Reports today are saying Soton are favorites to land him.

Don't think I've ever seen M'Vila in action - or at least taken any special notice of him - but you guys surely must rate him loads baring in mind his record of being mental.

Has he done well for France?

Personally wouldn't mind an Italian defender. The name Astori doesn't ring any bells though. Is he any good? He looks tall hence must be a beast in the air.

Actually looks tall and slender like some Sami clone.

I don't really get the bitterness towards Newcastle. It wasn't their fault Kennoli handled their £50m like a premature ejaculator (I understand) handles his charge of semen.

Get over it. The sad fact is that Carroll is an inferior player to the lad we just spent £12m on. Anything over £12m for him is therefore a profit - of a rather depressing sort, admittedly.

I thought we would had learnt our lesson in signing any more Italian players.

*Disclaimer. Never seen this guy play or heard of him.

I agree with the first half.

The second bit not so much. I think getting him off the wage bill and any fee is good for us since he clearly has no value to Rodgers.

It's not soley because of the AC issue but because they have a cunt of a chairman, a loud-mouthed Chief Exec, and cock of a manger and the most deluded fans on the planet.

Well, this is really just arguing for argument's sake, but are their fans really like that? Isn't that the sort of thing other fans say about us? All the geordies I've ever met have been pretty down to earth about the club's status.

Maybe the chairman is a complete cunt, I don't know. I don't know cos I couldn't give a flying fuck, and I don't understand why anyone else would either.

Yeah, maybe. I guess we'll see. I admit I never liked Carroll from the start - I honestly don't see what he offers beyond your typical target man.

Fabio just SMSed me:

Just saw Falcao at John Lennon airport. Naturally curious, I got in my car and followed him to Anfield, where he embraced Brendan as a long lost brother. Then saw Neymar, M'Vila & Howedes roll up in a yellow and black limo before stepping into the stadium (Neymar stopped in the club shop to buy a shirt with Suarez on the back). True Story.

Apperantly Coates is off on loan to WBA

If Spurs sign Belhanda aswell, you'd have to laugh.
Will they be lining up with 2-2-5-1 or what??

I love the smell of Modo being right in the morning.
Even when he's not right.

20 million my arse. You're in Dreamland. It's never going to happen. He's been shit since joining us. He hasn't done anything of note to put that sort of price tag on his head. The only way we'll get 20 million for him is if we can find another club, who's as fucking gullible as we were when we signed him.

Refusing to sell to Newcastle because they are Newcastle is dumb.
It's even dumber than stopping the game because the ball struck your hand.

They are not going to become world-beaters with Carroll. We are not going to be weakened.
No one else is going to buy him for that money. Take and run. Pride is for losers.

Regarding selling Carroll I dont think we can be picky at all. There wont be many interested clubs and he's on massive wages.

If Newcastle make a bid I'd bite their hand off at this stage, cunt chairman or not.
