We're not going to get 20 million from anyone. If we can get 17 million, we take it and invest it into the team. We will make a massive loss on this -best to get him out before he gets injured again.

Exactly. He should return and work his way back into fitness and the match day squad. I see no reason to abandon him, he provides a new focus and impact to change games when necessary.
It's hardly Newcastles fault that we spent so much on Carroll, remember we got Enrique from them at a relative bargain. I'd take £15million for Carroll and run as fast as I could. I just prefer to think of it as only getting £30million from Torres as opposed to £50million, because really, thats how it works out.
Indeed, it's a once in a lifetime occasion.
